Here is what I got. 92xj auto 4.0. Have power to fuel pump, and power to coil, only when fuel pump is on( first turn key and off and on while cranking). Have replaced the balast resistor and have a new coil but still the same. What would make the coil only power up when fuel pump on? Also, no spark from coil at all. new coil with voltage at connector. Im stumped

I have changed crank sensor and no change

Sounds like you Crank Position Sensor is Bad. It is on the back of the engine by the trans.

replaced crank sensor and still the same What else could this be

cam position sensor. if its like a 97 its in the distributeor

if memory serves the signal is sent from the crank sensor to the computer then the computer grounds the coil, I beleive there would be a 12v constant at the coil when the key is on. could be a bad computer.

I have a cam pick up if you want to use it to see if that is your problem. LMK

check the wiring to the coil as well.
