Alright fine, I'll make a new build thread :finger: :sonicjay:

Bought a MandM offroad chassis from PJ, super good dude to deal with and super nice. HIGHLY recommend. http://mandmfab.com/id68.html
This is chassis #20

Well after a long two weeks, both at work and on the buggy I got it done to race yesterday. And wow what a difference. Incredible power change, so much more power and throttle response. Can't wait to actually dial in the tune.

Yesterday concluded this years rbor series. And another successful race with zero penalties taken :woot:. Even ran fast enough to take 2nd place in my class. Which led me to a 2 ND place finish overall in the series.

Buggy performed awesome, wish I would of swapped drivetrain along time ago lol.

Mental note, don't accidentally hit the brake when landing lol.

I quickly realized I had the wrong pedal and was back on the gas in a hurry.

After the race, their was an impromptu slab climb contest. I let @Grassman run the buggy up the hill a few times, then I ran it. Which led to another flat tire. Caught the sidewall on the corner of the bottom slab punching a hole in it. Which probably was a good thing. I still made the climb, but obviously it greatly slowed my momentum. So as I crested the top ledge I struggled a bit. Which gave me enough time to see @NightKrawler trying to stop a couple jeeps who were right in my "flight path". Had that tire not slowed me down I might just have landed into one of them.

Now I am thinking I might switch to a different tire. Not sure yet. 43" sx and 42 treps are about the only ones I think I like in the market right now in those sizes.

:thumb: I only went up to the top to get a different view of people launching it off of the 2nd set of slabs. Didn't think I'd be directing unsuspecting wheelers away from sure carnage. :fish:
Glad to see you wheel this series much more in control. Obviously it paid dividends with some top tier finishes. Wild balls out driving is easy to do and fun to watch but when you're out of control the penalties add up as does the carnage (which results in DNF's....which is brutally bad)
Glad you like the LS. It was a wise decision. :beerbang:

Can't decide on what to do about tires. The one I cut Saturday evening isn't repairable.

I have 5 mtrks, 2 have been repaired, 1 has the smallest pinhole near the bead edge. Buy one more and keep on with mtrks.

Been wanting to try treps, but can't bring myself to pay the price for 42s.

Dont wanna drop down to 40" treps but more reasonable cost.

Or 43" sx for a little less then the 40" treps.

Decisions decisions

Know anyone with a transamerican wholesale account? My neighbor has one, his pricing showed $630 each but he thought he might be able to get them closer to $600 if he went to a store. I got my replacement from Dave's Offroad, and they were shipped from Transamerican. Next time I'll just have my buddy order them.

I like my 40s, I think I'd like to get a set of 42s to rec wheel. It seems like they should've opened the tread up a bit to get more bite in the dirt. One thing I've heard from numerous people is burping issues with 40s. I really think its a wheel choice issue. I've never had a problem burping my 40s at 6 psi on Racelines. A guy I know with a 4 banger buggy on 40" Treps has to stay around 12 psi on his Walker Evans (I think thats the brand).

I've never burped air from my kmc/mtrk. Well not from the bead :sonicjay:.

But the bead area on a mtrk is just the right size to fit in the bead groove of the wheels. Where the sx and trep beads are entirely to large for majority of the wheels out there.

I don't think rock monsters will clear my front brakes. My kmc enduro beadlocks didn't clear the calipers completely and I had to "massage" the calipers to clear. I think the 05+ super duty brakes are to large.
