maybe I misunderstood, but since you're moving the links inward some, can't you put the shock mounts on the backside of the axle tube? it's not ideal, but might work?

 

That truss doesn't look like it does much for the drivers side tube. Looks like there is a good place for improvement

 

It doesn't, but it's also supposed to have 2 more inches of housing covering the tube.

The front ram mount also ties into that side from the front and the link in the back. My strut mount will tie the top truss into the c.

 

It will bend just like the old one did if hit the same way but the front setup should help.

I have plans to strip my front axle down and add the Artec full setup, hope to get it done this winter.

 

Hopefully not, if it takes a similar impact it should NOT fail the same way. Old setup had no protection to frontal impacts. The ram mount should help that. As well as deflect the buggy upward, instead of just hitting a wall.

@bearlys2005 has the full Artec truss and ram mount. From my observations it is pretty stout.

 

Didn't get as much done as I hoped. Ram placement being a pita with the axle narrowed 4"s

Getting closer. Need to attach upper links. Plumb the brakes. Build my tie rods. Make my strut mounts. Finish the new front driveshaft setup.

Seems to. I may pull it out and trim just a little. The bearing pulled tight against the knuckle and it spins. But I am concerned if the shaft is to deep in the grizzly and pressing against the cross shaft. Do a little more checking tonight before I call this part done.

 

 

 

I need the clevis ends to build tie rods, get torque spec on ram clamps. Bleed brakes, steering, charge Struts. Install front have of driveshaft, and belly skid.

I ordered a new diff cover, a standard d60 diff cover won't work. Not sure I'll see that by the weekend though. So I may end up running the stock cover.

 

I may make new upper strut mounts if time allows.
