Anyone know a good Web site that lists and shows the different insects in Michigan? I'm trying to figure out what a particular bug was (and I don't have a pictures of it).

It was the size of a horsefly, but I think green and more triangular, and it hurt REALLY bad when it bit.

Thanks, Sue. :) No, it wasn't a horsefly. It was something different. :(

Mine looked like a wasp but they were all gloss black. They had stingers in their buttocks also.

seen those at work... they kill ants so my boss says...

I had a pallet loaded into my van last week and a brown recluse rode in on the pallet, took me 4 hours to find the bastard and kill it.

Deer fly's are green, triangle and bite. Shades of green seem to vary.

Not to be confused with the flying deer.

You know, I bet that's what they were. I didn't even think of that. Thank you!

Box Elder bugs SUCK!
The only way to kill them is soapy water. My grandma has a box elder tree that shades her farm fuel tanks. Every spring/fall the siding of her house is covered in those stinking bugs. They get into every nick & cranny to find their way into the house. Found out the only way to kill them is to hose the siding down with dish soap & water.

rosie out.
