Laid Off? Just put the 700' M/V Calumet in winter lay-up. Tucked her in and told her a story. Now i have a couple months off with a new Ski-Doo with some Lake Effect, life is good!

I'm a Merchant Marine, just put my ship in Winter Lay-Up, (tied to the dock) for a couple months. I'm off work until this Spring! :beer:

Not that Calumet, i work on the old David Z. Norton, the new Grand River Navigation Calumet. I saw the old Calumet a few days ago scraped along side the Welland....

Always thought it was considered bad luck to rename a ship....

The name Calumet jumped out at me, I saw it a few times going up the river, and once in the soo locks IIRC, that was over 30 yrs ago....
