I think it would suck for longer trips, I don't see that thing being better then for around town. I would go get a ninja 250, or something similar, you can get 70+mpg on those.

 

under 50 cc's and no faster than 30 mph on level ground, plus cannot be shifted to be considered a moped in Michigan according to the SOS. So, the Kikker is classed as a motorcycle in this state. Jay.

 

It doesnt meet engine size requiremtns for the expressway but if your not planning on riding on the expressway it looks like it could be fun and economical.

Ps. the one with the ape-hangers looks stupid.

 

I usually like ape hangers, but they look ugly on that, but ape hanger are soooooo much more comfortable then drag bars.

 

I was checking them out also lately. That 8 ball with the red rims is pretty sweet.

Anything under 250cc is worthless.

My 1100cc 600 lb. road bike will easily get over 50 mpg if just cruising.

 

There are several vids on you tube if you want to see it in action (turn off sound unless you like "get on your bad motor scooter and ride" songs).

It is a 3/4 motorcycle (yes I'm posting alot about this for the casino cash).

 

I think they are cool. They do make one that could be registered as a moped. Looks the same, 49cc engine, no gears, 29 mph. The one you are talking about is registered like a regular motorcycle. They sell kits too if I'm not mistaken. They would probably be fun around town. Much better than a spree..

 

with the way the people on the roads are i don't know how someone would have the guts to ride something like that on the roads

and like above mentioned the law for freeway bikes is 125cc or at least it was last time i looked at the signs on the on ramps

to be honest i wouldn't ride a regular motorcycle on these roads with all the ass wads out there its bad enough in a vehicle

 

sheesh, doesn't anybody ride bicycles anymore? Yeah, I understand that people are crazy, I wouldn't be driving this on the expressway or even the main highways. I would use side roads and use my little GPS to navigate to where I need to go. I think it would be fun? doesn't anybody have a sense of adventure anymore? :sonicjay:

yeah, i guess I understand where you guys are coming from, I live more in northern michigan, i'm not riding around Detroit.

 

I'd be scared on the two lane highways with that thing. Cruising around Mt. Pleasant or in a city it's perfect.

 

That bike/ moped on michigan roads would be a rough ride... it would be a kidney beater for sure......

 

My son had a full suspension version in the 49cc range, it lasted for about 1000 miles before literally falling apart. They are Chinese built Honda copies, total crap

 

really, all i've seen are claims of quality. i haven't found anybody unhappy with theirs. are you sure it was kikker 5150?

 

I like it...and there is plenty of things you good do to that motor to get thing to haul ass

 

x2 lots of aftermarket speed parts for that 110cc motor.

 

tempting... if you could somehow register the 110cc version as a 49cc moped it'd be pretty cool. otherwise if you register it as a motorcycle you have to insure it and who's gonna want to insure that?

 

My bike is $356 a year for an '02 Honda Shadow 1100cc. I could insure it for $100-$150 for liability if I wanted to. That little bike would be super cheap for insurance.

saw you posted on the kikker forum... i was ready to buy the one in grandrapids registered as a moped, the guy sent me pics and info and won't return my emails after i wanted to set up a date to come get it...
