I saw this bike in a different post and I'm intrigued. Anybody on here ride one or have any experience with them? How would they have to be registered in Michigan? I have been thinking a little bit about a scooter/bike or something for cruising up north to a cabin or my girlfriends (150 mile round trip). The top speed is 57 MPH stock. I'm already used to driving slow because of my samurai. I figured this would be good, throw a backpack on and cruise up north. They have 110 CC engine with a 4 speed 4 stroke. People claim to get between 80-90 MPG with them and beyond. It would be fun to cruise with and know that I could go 100 miles on a fin.

Again, from the SOS

"If you are a moped operator, you must follow the same traffic rules as other motor vehicle operators. A moped is a two- or three-wheeled vehicle with a motor which has no more than 50cc piston displacement producing two brake horsepower or less. The moped must have a power drive system that does not require shifting gears and cannot have a top speed exceeding 30 mph on level surfaces."

Not a moped!

I think they are cool. They do make one that could be registered as a moped. Looks the same, 49cc engine, no gears, 29 mph. The one you are talking about is registered like a regular motorcycle. They sell kits too if I'm not mistaken. They would probably be fun around town. Much better than a spree..

with the way the people on the roads are i don't know how someone would have the guts to ride something like that on the roads

and like above mentioned the law for freeway bikes is 125cc or at least it was last time i looked at the signs on the on ramps

to be honest i wouldn't ride a regular motorcycle on these roads with all the ass wads out there its bad enough in a vehicle

sheesh, doesn't anybody ride bicycles anymore? Yeah, I understand that people are crazy, I wouldn't be driving this on the expressway or even the main highways. I would use side roads and use my little GPS to navigate to where I need to go. I think it would be fun? doesn't anybody have a sense of adventure anymore? :sonicjay:

also, i'm not a biker and the idea of going 70+ MPH isn't inviting to me. That's why I'm drawn to this thing? is that odd?
