I'm not out of touch, I read a 300 comment thread about it on facespace that was ultimately removed by admins(ahem) saying the same thing. I know it's your baby but accept constructive critism. You won't have mud trucks, 2 stroke bikes, or anything that's "cool" with the rules. That's the way it is. I think you know me well enough to know that "fixing" my exhaust isn't a $50 muffler. Show me a muffler that will quiet a 3/4 race cammed lq4 in a 3.5" diameter x 12" length with a 2.25" inlet to an acceptable sound level for the park for $50. I'll wait...............
So what’s the difference between a 3/4 race cam an a full race cam????does the full race cam have all 16 lobes and the 3/4 only have 12? Sounds like we’re building LS engines with flat head ford terminology, I mean doesn’t the LS generation refer to cam specs like like “Brah it’s gotta stage 4 cam in it”

god I miss the days when people spoke in terms of duration an lift

I'll bring the Oreos. For the record, Jim and I have a mutual respect and are fine. Don't want anyone thinking we hate eachother or something. Continue on.
I can't believe you and Jim hate each other. :poke:

Congratulations? You know it'd make more without it right? Turbo is a muffler? If purple is yellow what is green?
Could you recommend a couple mufflers for a 3.5" diameter space 12" long that will pass the sound test please? I have mufflers, they just aren't quiet enough. Is reading this hard for people?

Over and over again I keep hearing you complain about your space restrictions. I find it odd that someone that has the capability of fabbing up a rig of this stature can not figure out how to quiet it down for a simple test administrated by a unionized state employee.

I got three quick options off the top of my head that could get you past the sound police

reroute your exhaust to accommodate sufficient mufflers

dumb down your tack to read 2500 RPM's when your motor is turning 2000 RPM's

use a temporary intake restrictor to suffocate your motor during the test it needs to be running but it does not need to be running right.

If VW could sell millions of little diesels before the the brain trust at the EPA could figure out what they were doing I think you could enjoy some wheeling before getting ask to leave.

just my 2 cents

Just re-route the exhaust to where exactly? You don't think that was the first option? Give me a little credit here....
I can dumb down the tach via the tach output signal in hptuners but it's too loud at idle, let alone off idle.
All of it is alot of fucking around to go to a park that my friends didn't see worth revisiting. It is what it is. I'm the only one left in my group with a jeep anyway, probably time to sell it if I'm being honest. I've held off on selling it because in 9 days it's a classic and it's a milestone I felt worth holding onto it for. Also everyone is broke so selling now is dumb anyway. I'm still waiting on muffler recommendations given the size constraint. Not one person has answered that one :sonicjay:

Flowmaster Hush Power mufflers are 12" x 5" x 4" and took my 400 hp 5.3L well into the legal limit at the dunes

Edit:
Im going stainless exhaust and no longer need the hush powers. I will sell them to you for $50 a piece to stay within your budget

Those have been in my Amazon cart for months haha! JFR recommended those as well. You’re on the west side correct? I should make a trip over once the “blizzard” is over.
