You'll find few people that have done more for the ORV community in Michigan than Jim.

Also here's your fix
Car Chemistry 3DI25R CC Inserts-Insert 3 Disk Mufflers Fits 2.5 in. Dia. Pipe CC Inserts-Insert 3 Disk Mufflers https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003V6O4C0/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_M5N92096H6HEDYZZDZES

Put two in my LQ4 and it quieted it down enough that I can have my 4 year old ride around with me. Probably restricts power a little but I don't have money on every ride so it's worth it.

I appreciate the offer but I'll pass. I spent alot of time and money to put a V8 in, I don't want to go back to 4.0L power. Like I have said, it hasn't been for lack of effort, it's for lack of compromise and I'm ok with not going because of it. Plenty of parks to ride in.

C'mon Ian, let's be real. He has zero interest in a solution, he just wants to bitch. Probably running 4.10 gears with 40s but worried a muffler is going to rob too much power 🤣

No matter how much effort you put in there is always some jackass with a " you should have done it this way " comment few will ever understand the effort you and others have put in but don't think for one minute it is lost on the rest of us. Those that Know,,,, Know and appreciate what we have.

My LQ4 made 620 rwhp last year, and has a muffler. It's on track to make 750 this year, and will still have a muffler.

This dudes stock NA one is gonna lose all the llamathrusts if he chokes down dem dere thunderin ponies though

People like this, want to bitch, they don't want a solution, he'll just move the goal post.

For the record @feva4u and I have known each other a long time and are good. He pushed me a little harder than usual and being a guy about fair play and all - I pushed back.

With that, thanks for the support guys. Now let's quit talking about it and go have some fun. And we will let @feva4u bring a Prius and show us how it's done.

Congratulations? You know it'd make more without it right? Turbo is a muffler? If purple is yellow what is green?
Could you recommend a couple mufflers for a 3.5" diameter space 12" long that will pass the sound test please? I have mufflers, they just aren't quiet enough. Is reading this hard for people?

What muffler do you have now that doesn't keep it quiet enough... I've found several mufflers in the size you reference, yet no idea what to compare them to.
What is your decibal level currently?
Without looking it up, i assume the park is regulated to 94 or 96 db?

94 but you will get in at 96 with a warning.

What distance at what rpm?
There are so many low restriction options out there, but still nothing to compare it as of yet... I'm not even talking about feva, this is to gain my own knowledge. I'm in the quieter is better camp. Always have been, but want something with a little growl, has to be small, and low restriction because i have an idea for my new rig. Might not be a good one, but it will be fun!

I don't have the tech description but it's the same format as used at Silver Lake. It's something like 18" @ 45* at 2500 rpm for a V8. There is a specific handbook and rpm for different 2 stroke engines and testing a V8 engine is different than a 6 cyl. Way more complicated than seems necessary but I guess it's all about controlling the low bass of a V8 vs the high rev brap of a 2 stroke because their sound carries different.

I had my buggy there for the first training sessions they did. Prior to the training, the non-trained people were just holding the meter close to my exhaust and I passed at something like 91. Then when we did the official test, I jumped to 104. I had a straight section in my exhaust of about 15" before my muffler and stuck in a couple straight through resonators. 2.5" duals all the way back to a common dual muffler. When you can look straight through them with no restriction, I was pretty sure they weren't going to do anything for me but it dropped it to 92. (y)

It's kind of looking like those resonators might be a good choice, cheap and just add them until it passes.

All you silly kids with your V8s and automatics. My 4.0L has a catalytic converter, muffler, and resonator because I didn't want to make obstacles too easy with all that pesky horsepower.
