Because all loud things are cheap and shitty. Got it. I'm real sure those people would rather not have you around either to be fair.

I'm totally good with that as well.

Different strokes for different folks. You want loud ass nonsense blasting around, I want to enjoy my day on a trail in a peaceful manner.

I'm, again, 100% fine with not being around people I don't want to be around lol.

I like pizza!!!!!

But hopefully I will make it out to this park later this year? Trying to acquire some type of off road machine this year. I am to much of a wimp to do it with my jEeP, so it will continue to be the trail/dune/mall crawler....

Your Jeep would be just fine there, most of it is pretty mild.

I'm not out of touch, I read a 300 comment thread about it on facespace that was ultimately removed by admins(ahem) saying the same thing. I know it's your baby but accept constructive critism. You won't have mud trucks, 2 stroke bikes, or anything that's "cool" with the rules. That's the way it is. I think you know me well enough to know that "fixing" my exhaust isn't a $50 muffler. Show me a muffler that will quiet a 3/4 race cammed lq4 in a 3.5" diameter x 12" length with a 2.25" inlet to an acceptable sound level for the park for $50. I'll wait...............
The sound issue is stupid. It's a state guideline. Those that want to bitch about it are barking up the wrong tree. Funny how they bitch about Holly but not about Silver Lake when it's the same guideline.

If you are implying that I deleted a 300 comment thread, I think you are wrong. However, foul language and name calling on that page won't be tolerated. That page is monitored on a regular basis by the top brass of the DNR. People going rogue are no benefit to anyone.

RE your exhaust, if you wanted to quiet it down and maintain the same performance, you could. State it, you simply don't want to because you like it loud. That's fine, but don't bitch about a park not allowing you in. I'm willing to bet my LQ9 in my buggy rivals the hp you have. I was over the limit. I chose to fix it and was able to do it. For the record, dual 2-1/2" all the way to the back. I've sat in more than one meeting where the township supervisor is bitching about calls he received with noise complaints. If some people (ahem) can't understand that, oh well.

2 stroke bikes are allowed and welcome. Where did you hear otherwise? If you want to claim the noise restrictions, see the above comments about Silver Lake. And yes, it sucks that there are factory bikes that don't pass. Again, not my fault. Sorry.

Mud trucks are welcome. Mega trucks with open exhaust, see the above comments about Silver Lake.

I cannot alter a state sound restriction.........

Actually, it's pretty well rounded for a Jeep. You just need to explore. There is some really tough terrain there and I can keep busy with anything from stock to buggy.
Oh for sure, my point was more that he could still do plenty of stuff around the park without risking damage.

I've been there once as a passenger. Not big on my list of places to take my stock Gladiator, but might join some friends there.

All you dumbasses, see above. LOL

Sorry Josh, actually I forgot your screen name.

So....................... the goal is to start pinging your friends and get them to start to rebuild this forum. Let's start getting some discussions about local wheeling where people can start to play again.

I've spent the last 10 years working on getting Holly Oaks ORV Park open for all of us in SE Michigan. How many of you have been there?
If you haven't, why not?

Let's get to it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been there a few times. Looking forward to many more!
Thanks for all your hard work!

Having an exhaust louder than some parks stupid rules allow does not make it broken. It's not broke, the rules are dumb. Imagine if drag strips had the same dumb rule. I would have thought an offroad park would have done some homework on that.
I think they DID do their homework on this topic. Silver Lake has been in court several times over excessive noise over the past 20years (maybe longer). This is why they started enforcing the noise rule, and why they didn't want this to be a problem with people around Holly Oaks. I think it's called being considerate to neighbors or something like that...

I use to like loud exhaust...now I'm old and wish mine was more quite. Might add some race bullet mufflers before the muffler.

I'm ok with the noise restrictions the state puts out. I cannot stand the loud 2 stroke bikes/quads at silver lake and often wonder how some are allowed to run. If you don't like it, don't go. With all the karens in the world be happy there is a slice of land local you can wheel.

There is no doubt hitting the rev limiter with a good sounding high hp motor is tons of fun. But to me it gets old after a while. And, I would rather wheel where I can/want than be kept out due to a loud exhaust. That's just me..............

See you admit it's stupid, then don't offer me a real solution given the design constraints I gave you.

There was a post talking specifically about the issue I brought up and it indeed disappeared from the facespace after getting lengthy. I'm sorry nobody gives the top brass at the DNR credit for being adults able to interprit different points of view from the the people that own the land they manage. The admins on that page are no different than the current .gov. Didn't like a different viewpoint so it was silenced.

I have the largest mufflers that fit in the space I have for them. I gave you my design constraints and you offer no solution. I'm still waiting for a link to the $50 muffler that "fixes" my exhaust smartypants.

On the HP thing, hopefully the previous owner tuned your LQ9. You walked around like you had HP on the last one when the reality is you had no idea because you mailed shit to a guy then assumed you were getting what you paid for. Other than running, you'd have no idea if it's making the power it's capable of or not. Same applies with your current buggy. You have no idea if it's tuned right or not yet make the assumption that you rival the HP I have. Welcome to the GL4x4 flashback where people complain haha. See you soon Jim.

Most lame excuse I've heard. load exhaust has nothing to do with off-road vehicle, other then cheeping out.
Hey dumbass;
Fact: my vechicle is an offroad vehicle.
Fact : it has mufflers that are labeled "For offroad use only"
Fact: neither muffler is broken
Fact: I stated that I have an offroad exhaust on an offroad vehicle.

Literally nothing I said was an opinion or an excuse. I'm not sure how to make this more clear for you to understand.

Please be quiet while the men are talking. I have already concluded that your are wrong, accept your defeat and move along please.

To bad there are pyschos on this site, Kickstand commentary would be epic right now.

See you admit it's stupid, I admit arguing about it is stupid. Don't like the law, go talk to Lansing. then don't offer me a real solution given the design constraints I gave you.

On the HP thing, hopefully the previous owner tuned your LQ9. You walked around like you had HP on the last one when the reality is you had no idea because you mailed shit to a guy then assumed you were getting what you paid for. I "walked around" stating that I had a STOCK LQ9, which by GM's release numbers was 345 hp. I never bragged I had more, in fact, I asked YOU to take a look at it and see what Jim's performance had altered. You told me all they did was remove some smog stuff and nothing more. When people asked me what hp I had, I ALWAYS told them it was stock so assuming smog removal gave me something - I was guessing around 350. Please go find me a post where I said it was more. Other than running, you'd have no idea if it's making the power it's capable of or not. Same applies with your current buggy. You have no idea if it's tuned right or not yet make the assumption that you rival the HP I have. Welcome to the GL4x4 flashback where people complain haha. See you soon Jim. RE the new one, he had told me what parts were in the motor and what to expect. All I can say is it's significantly more hp than my YJ. No, it has not been dynoed so I will retract any comments about my hp. RE your super high hp race motor that can't be quieted down, maybe you should talk to Jared Peteprin. He manages to put 700-1000 hp Hemi's in Jeeps all the time and they are super quiet. Maybe he can steer you how to fit a quieter exhaust on a Jeep.

We can argue technicalities and throw jabs and what not all day long. No problem. It's part of the internet. But I will say, one of your earlier posts is the one thing that really pisses me off. You said the park is "your baby". That stings - seriously. For 40 years there was talk about an ORV park in SE Michigan and it never came about. Then when the opportunity came up, I viewed this as something important to all of the ORV users and by luck or whatever, I found myself in a place where I had some influence. Why? I honestly can't say other than the right place at the right time. Many people in the ORV community told me I was wasting my time. Whatever. But I decided to give it my all. I went to meetings. Lots of them. I took vacation days to sit in the fucking county board meetings to get my voice heard. I reached out to the community for help. I spent my own money to take county employees to the Mounds and up north and to the Badlands to see ORV areas. I forfeited wheeling days with friends to spend time at the park to try to make it happen. I took time off work to meet with the previous mine owner because part of the purchase agreement was that he had to create ORV features.
I took 8 personal vacation days for Mt Magna alone. That means my wife sacrificed our personal time because she understood this was important to me.

I never asked for anything in return. Instead, I get sarcasm from fucking know it all's who don't have any skin in the game and can't realize that compromises need to take place to make things happen. All they want to do is complain and throw jabs.

So, if that makes it my baby in a sarcastic way, I guess you are right. Right now, I don't give a fuck what you think. You've made it clear you don't think much of me.

Oh, and regarding Kickstand. Chad has voiced his opinion on several occasions. He doesn't agree with everything going on at the park, but he still supports it and I have always felt (and seen instances) where he has had my back. He's disagreed with me but never attempted to make fun of me. There's a difference there.................

You'll find few people that have done more for the ORV community in Michigan than Jim.

Also here's your fix
Car Chemistry 3DI25R CC Inserts-Insert 3 Disk Mufflers Fits 2.5 in. Dia. Pipe CC Inserts-Insert 3 Disk Mufflers https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003V6O4C0/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_M5N92096H6HEDYZZDZES

Put two in my LQ4 and it quieted it down enough that I can have my 4 year old ride around with me. Probably restricts power a little but I don't have money on every ride so it's worth it.
