drop down to 35s, keep the d44s and leaves.
it is a cheap simple option.
ditch the body lift, trim a little, done.
just an option not mentioned here.

either way, enjoy!
cool rig!
Two things: I've pushed the limits of what leafs can do after racing the old TREC Wag, and I also learned that I don't want to try and patch up a factory frame ever again.

I got a set of 5 tons, still in the crate, interested?
LOL, no.

I say stay with a 60/14 combo knowing you will have times when you want to horse on it.
Yeah, something like that. Will see what pops up. I do have a set of 5.13 shaved 14-bolt gears on the shelf.

I want to buy a buggy. Why don't you buy my entire Jeep and for $20K you will have everything you need. :d:
I've spent a bunch of time trying to figure out if i go for building the Wag or building a buggy first. Although the YJ is really capable, that isn't on my list. :poke:

Maybe we need to have lunch and discuss buggies. I kinda pushed towards a trail rig as I wondered if a buggy would get used enough.

A front 44 doesn't hold up to a 2 barrel 360 with mild wheeling
The 60 is def the right choice with 37s and any ls

Cool to see you are finely getting around working on the old Girl.
I am still kicking my ass for selling the one I had, I hate myself for letting it go.

I think I found my drivetrain donor. Going to check out on Saturday.

8x6.5

More choices, more options, more out there in that pattern.
Yeah, I think that's gonna be the plan. Had at one time thought about running a semi-float d60 in the rear and going 6x5.5 to keep Wag pattern, but looks like that's a no-go with 2005+ hubs.

I don't think I want to bother boring the D60 to use 35 spline. Might need to toss it out and go find something different. I had thought if I did semi-float, I'd do the Jantz upgrade to run 70 gears.

Well, let's hope I don't get sidetracked. I have a slight case of buggy fever and as of now, the parts could go either way.

i ran, and mike the previous owner ran, a semi float 60 in the rear of my juggy. full spool, 35 spline moser shafts, and 42s. i never broke anything.
pretty simple, and cheap.

full floater is stronger.

you could make either work pretty well.

whats in the back of the burban for an axle?

most hate on them, but i like sterling rears.
almost as strong as a 14 bolt.
better ground clearance than a non shaved 14 bolt.
often big disc brakes.
usually stupid cheap.
i have been across the scales on my sterling rear at 18k gross without issue.
just another option.

Yeah, Mike put together the 40 spline semifloat 60 in my TJ. Never had an issue with it.
