Interview #5 and talking money tomorrow, hopefully be putting this one ton conversation to rest...

Otherwise went to work yesterday and did some more frugal control arm stuff... JK front uppers cut down. I do have Barnes Enduro joints on the way. Please excuse the welds..
Some days you're a welder, other days you're a grinder....today you're definitely a grinder.

Lol. To be fair i'm never a welder, but the Maintenance Manager welded it up for me. I don't really care I guess - I mean if they're functional, it's not like I'll be seeing them. :beerbang:

Nobody ever complains about going to a lower gear. If you go too low the only time you'll complain is on the highway.
I disagree. My Jeep has been a pretty good hill killer in low range with 4.88's and 39" tires. I just went to 5.38 for better crawling and my initial test drive tells me I will run out of wheel speed in low range, and like others have said, I'm not sure I have enough hole shot in high range.

Here is a hill climb with the 4.88's.

Brandon I may just do that. I was just talking to a guy I sold a part out Rubicon to, and he'd do $1500 for the front axle. I'm just butthurt it is scaley.

Ill decide tomorrow! :(

Thanks for the input!
What's wrong with the axle that's in it? It's already there. Run it until it breaks. Sometimes they never break. I didn't mean to go buy a rubicon 44 vs a d50. If you're going to put money into an axle, buy once, cry once. Especially if you plan on keeping it. My $.02

It's a D30 with 3.73's. Ideally it would need to be at least a 4.10 for a 35", but I really wanted to run 37's. I'm just weighing all my options. If I get this new job Ill have to move which means Ill need to be devoting 100% of my time working on the house to get it ready for sale.

Ugh. So many different directions to go here. Sorry to all for being so wishy washy.

We'll see what the next couple days holds.

D44 if you NEVER EVER EVER plan to go bigger than 37". But I agree, a D30 can last quite a while for mild trail and sand wheeling.

I ran a D30 With 3.73s for quite a while on 35s. I never had any major issues, actually towed a small uhaul trailer all the way to Alabama with it on 35s and then wheeled it for a year or two like that. Obligatory poser picture from when I put the 35s on!

Ok guys, point taken. I too ran 35's on a D30/373's locked up and wheeled it pretty good and it stood up. It did get 4.56's later.. It was a stick and it wasn't a fat pig of an LJ though.

Otherwise, got some bling on the way!

Thanks to my brother @parkfan I have a Sinister Jackhawk rear bumper, except I am not feeling it at the moment against my soon to be flat butt. :( Granted it's not sitting all the way on, but still. Maybe it's on some bigger tires?

I really want to look like that Impact Orange LJ that Jason/Unlimited built a number of years ago... So far is like one of those outfits you see on a model and when you buy it and get it home it looks nothing like the original. :sonicjay:

Got a little farther with the tailgate, and have a new to me bumper that ill run for now, I like the look quite a bit better. I just need to install the other bracket tub side for the tailgate strap and its done.

Also, I should relay that this Jeep will not be getting 8 lugs. I will be changing jobs which means a move and I can't have this thing down. :(
