I found a used car that seems like a pretty sweet deal. The test drive went well, it’s in good shape, and the seller seems trustworthy. He told me a VIN check wasn’t necessary, saying there’s no history of accidents and the title’s clean.
Do you think a VIN check is always a must, or have any of you skipped it without any trouble? Interested in hearing what others think about it.

Just go to google and input the VIN. If its been in an auction for a collision it will show up. I've seen "clean title cars" where the front end has been taken off.
