And I haven't the slightest fucking clue which one I need. :sonicjay:

My Toshiba recently took a shit on me after faithfully providing me with 2 years of hassle free movie, music and porn downloading. I tried running these two recovery discs but towards the end of disc two I am getting an error (10-FC12-0017) and the recovery stops.

A google search indicates this is related to the hard drive and anyone that has replaced the hard drive after getting this error has had no problem running the discs and getting their computer back and running.

So, looks like I'm in the market for a new hard drive. Problem is, I don't know shit about hard drives.

The computer is a Toshiba Satellite A215-S4767 running Windows Vista. Honestly I just want something that works. I don't need anything spectacular. I already have a replacement laptop, so this one will be used for music in the garage and porn/movies on the big screen.

Link to laptop if that helps ----> http://laptops.toshiba.com/laptops/satellite/A200/A215-S5837

Cliff Notes: Want to replace hard drive in Toshiba. Will any hard drive work, or do I need a certain one?

A quick note: I'll just be pulling the old HD and popping in the new one. I don't need to save/transfer any data. I'll also be pulling the old HD here in a second to make sure it's a 44 pin SATA connector (I want to do that... right?)

I'm looking at this one on newegg.... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136391

Seems like it's a close match to the one that's in it now.... will that work?

all you need is a 2.5" internal SATA Drive.

I literally just did this friday to my macbook pro of 4 years.

Alot of toshiba's have a cover on the bottom held on with 4 screws for hard drive access.

If you want one right now, just go to best buy and pick up one in stock.
