It looks like this, it had about 30 pounds of mounds mud in it

 

I shoved the 37s under it from the sold willys project

 

Then i sold the topper and a bunch of other parts I didn't want to use.

 

Made a run to wisconsin and picked up some other parts

 

Tried to powerwash as much mounds mud out of the frame that I could.

 

and then I immobilized it.

 

I immobilized it a lot

 

Then we put some 52" custom leaf springs on it from ORD... and a Ford dana 44 with chevy outers and H3 brakes.

 

Then we put a drag link that I had lying around with new ends on it, an ORD pitman arm, and a WFO steering arm on it.

 

then we swapped in a np231c and made a custom crossmember for it.

swapped to some method rims and a different grille. Rear axle is just floating roughly located currently. Front is stretched 2" with the 52s, rear will be stretched 1" with some 54s

Rear axle is still about 1” behind where it should end up. But got the rear leaves tossed in place, had to turn down the bushings a bit to fit right. This should be pretty close to ride height. Hoping to get the rear slider boxes bolted to rear eye and crib them up with some weight on the back to get an idea for mounting. Then i’ll make the slider boxes a bolt on so i can add shims in the future if i feel the need to lift the back some.

 

That's an awesome K5! glad to see it saved vs some wanker cutting giant hunks out of it for a full resto then leaving it rot in his backyard for the next 4 years.

 

I'll be cutting hunks out of it for a full custom and it's been rotting in my garage for 4 years!

 

On ground with suspension loaded

door sill 29”, bed rail 59.5”, although i expect that to settle some

cribbed up the slider boxes to sort out brackets, going to add a touch more rake for adding fuel, roll cage, soft topper, whatever going in bed and rear seats

also making the sider boxes bolt on so i can add shims if i ever need to lift it further.

 

Lifty mchoistface making quick work of suspension cycling. That hitch is gonna go once leaf springs, mounts, and axles are permanent.

 

 

needed a break from under the blazer so i gave it a good wipedown.

 

Pulled the tank, hitch, and bumper to give me some more clearance for adding the slider box mounts.

did i mention this thing had a couple mounds entrance bands behind the rearview mirror? I’m running out of places for the mud to hide.

 

got the slider boxes mounted up, need to finish welding the saddle in. Currently the bedrail is around 1.5° raked up without gas tank, hitch, or rear bumper. Guessing that will be a lot closer to 0 once installed and filled.

Took some extra time to make them bolt on so i can shim the brackets down if needed once interior stuff is added and everything settles.

Will be on to interior and a rear hitch. Still mentally avoiding the wiring and shock mounting for the time being.

 

Made my hidden hitch mount. Intend to sell something similar as a DIY parts kit minus the tubes.
Pretty happy how it all came together.
Still pondering new license plate location, got a couple ideas.

 

Needed to do something a little different, so made a light bar and flag mount for the k5.

Also made two lists of what it would take to get it driving, and what it would take to get it done... oof.

 

Still procrastinating on wiring, so put the dash in. Happy i spent the coin on a new replacement.

Glowshift gauge panel just tossed up for a quick mockup.
