His jeep was making weird noises so I pulled the rear diff cover off.......

1st clue something was wrong.......no diff fluid
2nd clue was ring gear would move up and down
3rd clue is the pic

So I replace the diff cover with a new and improved diff cover and refilled the diff fluid and sent him on his way. Best $250 I ever made :tonka:

If you look close there is a hole punched in the diff cover in the upper right hand corner. I didn't charge for the new diff cover. :thumb:

Looks like you have a future as an automotive mechanic if you ever tire of cutting out keychains from metal. :tonka:

so did you fix the ring gear problem
unfortunately no:( at the time we had no means of pressing off or on the bearings. If I had not stuck my finger in his rear end he would of eventually have exploded it. :d:

I did make a kewl find though. United autoparts on Gratiot will press off and on new bearings for $16 :thumb:
