Officials believe fumes from the various chemicals used at the factory overwhelmed the victim, and he fell forward into a waist-high vat of sulfuric acid and drowned, according to Dowden.

Dowden said the victim did not appear to be wearing facial protection, a safety measure strongly recommended when working in close contact with hazardous chemicals.

The circuit boards factory is now closed for an undetermined amount of time, according to Dowden.

I would hate to see the fine from this and the kids poor family.

Dr. Kate says absolutely disgusting.

She says his skin would have been dissolved off, but depending on how long he was in there he would have boils, ulcers, and holes all over his body.

It depends on the concentration though.

I am glad I was not on that call. That poor M.E.

Sucks for the family as well. It is too bad that a kid had to lose his life.

x2. A weak solution wouldn't cause much. This sounds like a high concentration though and this guy melted like the Terminator did.

It's a fairly strong acid concentration. Its used to etch off the unmasked layers of copper to form the circuit traces. PCB fab isn't pretty stuff.
