I know this is a 4x4 site but i just got a 1995 camaro last week and i am already running into a problem... It seems the motor is not big enough and it wont let me go as fast as i would like. It is a silly little v6. I was wondering what would fit into my car w/out to much modification to the engin compartment.

You can almost fit anything chevy in there depending on how much modification you want to do. Now for engine compartment modifications, you shouldnt have to do anything along those lines. Being a 95 an Lt1 would work perfect, there are enough out there that you should be able to find a wiring harness and computer farely easy. The only thing im not sure about is if the flexplate would bolt up to the v8 or if you would have to swap transmissions out, im guessing the y pipe would have to be modified also. In my opinion you screwed yourself in buying a v6, if you already want more. Kinda making more work than what it could have been if you bought a v8

I took the car on a trade for a pile of crap chevy 1500 which was worth about $700 so i didnt really care about the v6. I just want more because im 18 and all i think about is being bigger and better than anyone else. I am willing to do the work i just dont want to get something to big that wont fit. And I am considering the dmax that would be sweet. lol

Thanks Kodiak450r for clarifying that up about the transmissions, i wasnt quite sure about it but i had some idea, but fatcowwhaleman a lt1 would work perfect thats what came stock in most of those anyhow, throw a nice cam in them and run some headers and they make for a nice motor. I think it would be cool to switch ur 95 back to old school carbureted and run something different then everyone else. Im 20 and own an 84 z28 and an 87 iroc z and love both. The olny problem u may come into problems with down the road is the rearend holding up, but if im stating right, most of the v6's were posi. V6 springs might not hold up to the extra weight of the v8 but that extra weight tranfser to the rearend might help u out on accelerating
