1997 was the last year of solid axles for Land Cuisers in the US. Ironicly, every other country they were sold in carried over the 93-97 drive train (solid axles, 4.5L I6) to the new body style. US is the only country that got IFS and the 4.7L V8.FJ80s had optional front and rear E-lockers, not just rear. There were also coil springs front and rear on those.
Although the 80 series Land Cruisers were availible from 91-97, only 93+ had the option of factory e-lockers. About ~7% of LCs shipped with the lockers.
