Anyone running a high pinion 3rd in their front axle? I've toyed with the idea of it, but I'm not sure it's worth the $$ to upgrade. Anyone know how much stronger it is? I assume the strength upgrade isn't significant and the main reason for doing it is driveshaft angle and slightly better clearance.

HP rear is bad news. The gears make contact in the wrong direction/spots. HP is for front only.

reverse cut gears are only stronger in the front. I'm not sure that there are even r/c gears for Toyota axles.

Right, in rear applications, low pinion is stronger. The whole reason they went to high pinions up front is for strength, not for clearance.

For example, just about no one runs a high pinion dana 60 rear because they break.

different gears. Its mechanically possible to flip the diff(with some grinding to the housing), but its still driving the wrong side of the gears, and it'll be makign you go backwards..
