If you caught the news brief on this..........

I have been concerned about this while driving around the wrangler topless-doorless.

Any of you bikers wear ear plugs? ( it was what they suggested ) They said that full helmets did not help reduce the wind noise to the ears.

No ear plugs. The pipes are behind my ears, and at 60 mph I can barely hear them unless at WOT.

Wind noise really isn't that bad either.

I wear a full face, no ear plugs. The noise isn't bad from my bike but when I'm near one of those "loud pipes save lives" f'ers I wish I had some.

it is just people trying to blame half helmets for their hearing loss ... yess the wind could cause hearing loss but so can the tv or the raido or your job or whatever ....anyone who wears a full helmet knows that there is almost no wind noise so yess they may have a point.. but as far as that goes then they should check into hearing aids and stop bitching

Been wearing half helmet for a few years. Been using foam earplugs for about 12 years now. Friend of mine from the AF got me into wearing them. Can still hear everything I need to, without any problems.
As for those loud pipes bikes yeah, I hate those too. They should outlaw D&D pipes on crotch rockets! :sonicjay: Only thing I hate worse is the stealth ricers who you pass and can't tell if they are running or coasting! :tonka:

I wear ear plugs when Jeeping topless on the highway (not around town).

I've already got hearing loss (the 70s and early 80s) and I need to save what I have left.

It also takes a huge amount of the fatigue out of a long topless drive. The sound pressure will actually tire you out.
