Ok so this thing has sat in the back of my barn non-running for some time now I figured its time to get it going again and teach my little brother to ride.

It's a 1971 Harley Shortster, 65cc, 2 speed manual. Not to many of these were built so i figured I'd save a piece of history.
I didnt get any pics of it in one piece so these will have to do.

got the motor torn down

found out why it wouldnt run

got new paint on the trans case

proof that it is a harley


i have to many projects unfortunatly this one takes up alot of room


this should be a neat project just hope its finished before the nice weather hits

ok I'm having a bit of trouble finding a new piston, anyone know where i could have one made?

look up bobs4cycle.com go to the 2cyl rwyb / open / unlimited section. These guys custom build small 2 & 4 stroke race engines all the time and may be able to help.

Those small Harleys were Itailian built,by Aermacci or something like that.I do have a good pair of wheel/tires if you need them.

i actually got ahold of some factory tires, may end up needing those rims tho I'll keep it in mind

it's street legal too, i have a title around here somewhere, its going to serve as a bar hopping trasport lol
