This is exactly what I thought. It is a really cool video but now that it is posted everywhere when the next round of complaints about SL copmes out this will be ammunition to try and close the place down. Or when the next couple people die trying to out do him.I witnessed a similar jump off Test hill back in the 90's in a CJ 7. Unfortunately they went nose first, and the passenger in the front seat died while I was talking to him. (the windshield folded him in half at his rib cage).
The driver of this truck would have gotten an earful from me if I had been there. This is a good way to get the park closed.
When you do turn 19?Silver lake will never close because it would destroy the town and the state would get a ton less money from orvs, state park stickers, people camping etc.
Huh? Im 22..When you do turn 19?
Close enough to prove my point.Huh? Im 22..oke:
What's your pointClose enough to prove my point.
Sure and all the state roads that used to be open to vehicles never cost any business any money when they were all closed down. Do not kid your self the state will and can close places down in no time if they want to. A couple court cases against the state and see how fast things can change.Silver lake will never close because it would destroy the town and the state would get a ton less money from orvs, state park stickers, people camping etc.
That is an attempt at a joke right? I sense sarcasm, but then I don't.Silver lake will never close because it would destroy the town and the state would get a ton less money from orvs, state park stickers, people camping etc.
All that "money" you speak of would not cover the settlements of the lawsuits that the families of people killed or injured would file. Plus a lot of that money is eaten up paying rangers, cleanup of trails, maintenance on facilities (bathrooms, food stands, tents, etc...). If someone came over that hill like that and took out 10 people and lets say 3 nice rigs then that could be enough to close down the park if their families had just decent lawyers.Silver lake will never close because it would destroy the town and the state would get a ton less money from orvs, state park stickers, people camping etc.
What would that have to do with the dunes itself? I believe it states on the ORV when you buy it that they are not reaponsible... I may be wrong I'm not sure. All that "money" you speak of would not cover the settlements of the lawsuits that the families of people killed or injured would file. I think you should read about Tellico. It was closed because of "environmental" reasons. Never the less many local hotels camp ground and restaurants were greatly effected. Tellico brought a huge amount of revenue into the area and surrounding areas. If you think that because many businesses an the state stands to loose some money they will keep it open at all cost.... Well you head is in the sand.People have done stupid shit at silver lake for years. People die/get hurt every year and it isn't closed yet. Why would something like this cause it to close?
It's just my opinion, I'm not being a smart ass or saying people can do whatever they want. I think you guys feel I'm coming off as a non respectful dbag. I myself respect the rules, I don't speed in the 25mph zones, I don't go backwards on one ways, I watch out for people and try to be courteous.
But I can't control the other people and neither can you guys. So yelling at me about my opinions isn't going to help/solve anything...
Quite possibly. I should have added "I DON'T think the dunes will close" and stated it as an opinion"I think you should read about Tellico. It was closed because of "environmental" reasons.
