I have a trans that is good but has been attached to a leaky engine all its life. What is the best way to de-grease this puppy?

I'm off to buy some degreaser now but was just wondering if anyone else had some options.

Brake clean also works good for getting the little nooks and/or crannys.

Do you mean like the outside case? WhenI need to get grease out that has been sitting on metal for a while, Simple Green works pretty good.

take it to a quarter car wash and soak it in the degreaser then power wash it down, carefull not to get water in the trans if its not going to be rebuilt
