Many of you know my best friend nick died one year ago last tuesday in a terrible burn accident, and it is still very hard. But you just have to know he is watching over you. Nothing anyone can say will feel better than you just keeping him in your thoughts and words everyday and learning from it.

Nick died the day after him and another friend of mine got into a fight about an intake manifold. He wishes everyday he wouldn't have made a big deal out of it, and watched nick die right in front of him knowing he could never say he was sorry. And since that day I have a had a whole new outlook on life, and how i handle myself with friends and conflict. And though my friend may never feel good about it, nick knows he is sorry and will look out for him too.

My prayers are with your firend and family.

Sorry to hear man.

Hate to hear of people drowning when they just out to take a swim and cool off in during the hot days.

This reminds me of the new thing in MUskegon where they are now cutting the life guards and the warning flag system from the budget. Pere Marquette is a bad spot anyways now not going to have anything other then bystandereds to really help and well, we all know how most people are these days when it comes to helping strangers. Sad really.

Wish the family the best.

I am sorry to hear that..... I take the mutt down there every night after work and after hearing about this my visit hasnt been quite the same. I had a friend in highschool that was killed by a drunk in a ford and hearing about this 17yo dying with friends near by has brought back some bad memories of my friends death.

I wish you the best. Dont do anything stupid, the feelings following my friends death lead me to some bad decisions, I hope you can handle it better than I did.

What really sucks is that the pier phones that they have, the FD has quit responding emergecy because of the number of false calls that they have gotten there.. kids screwing around and what not. What is gonna be horrible is when there really is and emergency that they are gonna take their time and it will be a matter of life and death.

FWIW.. Muskegon Fire responds to, I had to guestimate, 2 calls there (on a nice day) per day where they have been false calls. The dangers of running a fire truck emergency for nothing all time are very high, so it has been to decided to reduce the constant risk and respond non-emergency.
