My point about speeding was that speeds limits would be higher if people didn't exceed those currently posted. In other words, if you didn't speed I could legally drive 80 instead of illegally driving 75. "You" being the general public, myself included.I am in no danger of losing access to the paved roads in Michigan in the event that I am caught speeding. However, illegally trespassing off-road does increase the chances of us losing what little legal wheeling we have left in this state. Yes, we probably have all broken the laws and wheeled illegally. But, the point is that unless we as a group educate ourselves and those that are new or unaware, nobody else is going to do it. If we don't police ourselves, the DNR will do it and will bend over to the environmental lobby and close even more lands to us.
