Gubn't giving us free money:sonicjay: can't wait for my check if I'm not above whatever threshold they set..

I can't help but think about the longer repercussions of spending what, a billion dollars? Where will that money come from; I mean really though, they'll just print it, but what will do that in a year, in 2 years?

Either way, I do appreciate what it will do for moral and a general good feeling for people.

I'm sure I'll be above the threshold. Just like the retard's changing the payroll tax rate a couple years ago got me a huge tax bill.

I'd just use it to buy more ammo anyway. Wait... I already am buying more. I wish I had bought more when it was cheap. Oh well. Just need to buy a hawaiian shirt and I'm ready.

10000 min filed based on 2018 or 2019 which ever is last filed
99000 file single
199000 file jointly
These are the thresholds. I don’t know if it’s the same amount per or if it is less when you make closer to the top.

I bet we have to pay it back through our tax returns or something stupid.

I think it is funnier that politicians think this is enough to keep most of these people afloat. While I don't think that is the governments job, there were already people behind, now they are going to be so far behind they feel helpless and hell, $1200 barely feeds a family for a month. and $3500 for a family of 4 might get you a little while longer. When people get helpless after that runs out is when we get looting.

I wish the stupid fucktards in office could have kept the pork out and actually given it an honest try.

It's a stupid fucking idea using our future tax dollars to buy our votes. We, or our children and grandchildren will have to pay this back with interest.

Use the money to help end the pandemic and the economy will take care of itself.

It's almost like they are using it to end the pandemic by paying people to stay home.
I can see a little bit of both I guess; some helping people who are out of work, some buying votes for November. I feel like this administration in general is more apt to throw money at a problem rather than trying to strategically and scientifically react to and fix it. Maybe there's more strategy to it than I realize, but I doubt it.

That's my feeling. Give money to small businesses to retain employees, give money to citizens to stay home = Virus gone.

Sadly I think too many people are working and it will still spread. I have 2 friends who are machine tool repair men, they are still working. I don't see how this is an essential service. Another friend works for a company that makes components for truck accessories. (caps, tonneau covers, step bars, etc.) I didn't think this was essential either....
TruckHero? They're still running their plant in Ann Arbor at full capacity from what I'm told. I used to work there and still have quite a few friends who do, most of them are IRATE about it. Despite ownership's claims they are absolutely 100% not essential and are putting countless people at risk to keep building truck accessories. But executive management there is awful and only cares about the dollar signs and looking good for the investors. They've been bleeding people for years because of it and moves like this will only add to it. The thought crossed my mind that maybe they were trying to stay open to not have to lay off or furlough employees, but that's not how those guys operate. They'd kick 10 employees off a cliff to raise their EBITDA .01%. I'm hoping with the amount of attention they're drawing with it that they get hit with some well-deserved hefty fines.

To be honest, any check I get is just going in the bank so I can pay it back on next years taxes :teehee:
Providing I don't need the money to stay afloat and I don't think I would, we are getting a new washer / dryer. I'm currently working in the kitchen and heard this howling whining slamming sound the other day, I asked my wife WTF it was and she said the dryer. I asked her how long has it been doing that, "oh probably a couple years, but recently it's gotten a lot worse"

My first house I bought in 2006 had the original General Motors furnace in the basement from 1938. There was a metal plate on the side that indicated it was converted from an oil burner to natural gas in 1958! The only problem I ever had was the blower broke a belt once and I got a new one from autozone for like $5 lol

I replaced it for about $2000 for an 80% efficient furnace and paid myself back the very first winter!

My brother just told me about it.

It's not much of a stimilus bill, more than it is a progressive wish list.

Seriously, no rent or mortage for a year? Why are they even paying people money then?

It's not to buy food, cause it also increases snap benefits. It's not to pay for medical needs, cause they're increasing medicaid benefits. It's not to pay outstanding debt, because they're making it so the "stimulus" money can't be levied to pay outstanding debts....which it should be. You owe money, pay what you owe first.

Fawking straight bull, they way it is right now. They're not making anyone pay their debts, but handing out money just like they do at tax season.

At the rate it's going, I might as well quit and say I quit from covid concerns and collet more money on unemployment do I do working. With everything right now, I would collect about $1,500 a week between UI and PUA. I don't make half that a week now.

This is only for a primary home too... so because my old house is a rental now because Owosso is such a shitty market and I can't sell it for what I have in it, I will still have to pay that mortgage while my tenet gets off scott free for the year.

still trying to legislate people into the middle class.

Newsflash----there is no middle class is no one is in the lower class. You must make one class; us and the .01%

This is the test run for socialism...…

Been saying that a lot lately. This whole pandemic has felt like it since the "free money" part came about along with being told things we had to do that are not constitutional.
