Out of a 75 Ford F-250 I was told it was a 390 but havent really checked...

Still in the truck, you can hear it if you get a hold of me within the next week or so... otherwise it will be pulled and sent to scrap.

I don't know if its a 390 that late into the `70s. I would be more inclined to think its a 360 given the year & model.

It's impossible to tell the difference.
Check the valve covers - sometimes they indicate the engine on them other than that you can grab the casting number offa the block - forget the location.
Google should help a homie out

The FE [390] has an intake manifold that extends back under the valve covers, while the Lima [460] intake manifold sits between the valve covers. The FE intake looks just huge - a big flat piece of cast iron. That's the most visible thing.
