I work at a hospital, and it amazes me how many people bring their dogs and leave them in the car or truck. The last 5 days it has been a steady 96* here, and I am constantly getting phone calls to go out and check on dogs. I understand that emergencies happen when you might have a dog with you, but if you are coming in for a planned test, or to visit, why the hell jeopardize the dog by letting them bake in a vehicle for hours?
