I ask this because there is one hanging about four feet off the ground at my cottage, and I need to go finish cutting up the tree over there.

pritty much NO, just make sure that they are cable.

Nope. Cut one a couple months ago that was hanging from the power line. Just make sure it isn't power... :miff:

What kind of cable? The drop to your house? Usally the answer is no. Sometimes modems and what no back feed and give a low voltage. But you should be ok, the main lines have up to 90V

From what I remember when I worked cable some of the main feeder lines carry around 28 volts. It will just give you a nice poke. Call the cable company they have to be atleast 10 foot clearance I think but it might only be 8

strip it back and twist the two sides together. It'll get he cable company to come fix it.
