In my last house we had that corner bottom cabinet that is not easily accessed. I filled it with one gallon jugs of distilled water. I had close to forty under there. Pull as needed replace weekly of when shopping.
The gal living with me used every one without replenishing. When I explained the paradigm of having forty gallons of easily transportable potable water. She accusingly called me a “prepper”. She was the classic minimalist.
What was I prepping for? I don’t know. Three days, not a problem. Two weeks, we can handle it. Two months, I’ll be hunting the neighborhood cats. We got over it, she played my little game. We kept a pantry I figured we could live off of for thirty days, if we had to.
This event should be called the “Election Virus”. Trump will be crucified in the press for every misstep by anybody in government. Democrats are already saying he was slow to act and I don’t see it.
This pandemic scenario scares me shitless, I don’t want to get pneumonia again, it almost killed me.

But this is a time for putting politics aside and doing what we need to do to get through this and keep people save. I think Trump understands that and is doing that. There will be far more cases confirmed, simply because this and most viruses are never tested for. This will feed the hype and hysteria even more.
My background is in microbiology, and my wife is a molecular biologist, shes the one that actually does these tests, and also now runs the lab that takes the samples and does the tests. The only stress shes feeling is getting the new equipment running she has been asking for for 2 years. The government made the money available and now the hospital rubber stamped it as a result of this.
She was not worried until she saw me checking inventories in case the hood comes looking for easy takings.
My personal feelings is there is a lot the government is not telling us, as with other viruses we lost lots of people and no one lost their heads like this, not enough to decimate the worlds economies anyway.
China will recover fast, slave labor and still plenty of people, the rest of the world, not so much. Then with Wall Street tanked it will make it easier than ever for them to buy up our industry, and economy.
On our end government will use it as an excuse for more control and less freedoms that we will never get back.

Look at the patriot act. Whatever good it does, it is still 100% a violation of your rights, but it was passed in a time of desperation, need, and fear; then it never went away and was rationalized every time as we still need, regardless if we really do, it is still in place, long since after the fear and major concerns for it are gone. Almost 20 years later, and now it's just been there so long, nobody really cares to end it, because most people forget it's even still there.

I am trying to wrap my head around the whole thing. I suspect there is more than a fair amount of hyperbole by the media. But then, I watch on TV them taking temperatures at a checkpoint, and I’m reminded of countless germ and zombie movies that begin like that.
I happen to agree with Trump that better weather help the situation, so I’m going with the fresh air and sunshine plan.

Virus can't survive outside saliva or mucus; in the winter that just freezes and thaws just enough with human contact for that person to contract it, couple that with a lack of sunshine and lack of general well being (people are generally much happier, and feel better in the summer, huge factor is their body's ability to fight infections and viruses). In the summer, that saliva dries up rather quick, and the virus dies off without being able to infect as many people.I don't agree with the weather/temperature theory. The viruses do survive in cooler temps that are in the sinus and nose. They say those temps are pretty much equal to outdoor temps which the corona thrives in.
Guy says to use a hair dryer to blow towards your nose and breath in with misting your face and nose area. Temps rise high enough to help kill the virus. I believe he said about 136*.
If infected to do this up to 5 times a day and twice a day otherwise during cold and flu season.
