Because it gives a reason for people to go to the store solely to buy unessential items. Do you really need window shades? Do you really need to paint your bedroom? The idea of staying open is to be able to fix your leaky toilet or broken window.

What in the actual fuck is going right now.
walk in to walmart, I can buy a loaf of bread, but if my fucking shoe tears open, nope can't buy new shoes.
Bingo. I agree with the logic had they done it from the get-go, but the fact that the numbers of new cases per day are on the downturn after 3 weeks without those add-ons means it's unnecessary at this point in time. It would have helped early, but kind of pointless now. It's impossible that we're going to eradicate this thing completely, so the idea of backing off to more common sense and regional measures and restrictions is going to have to become a reality sooner than later. This was a step in the opposite direction.Because it gives a reason for people to go to the store solely to buy unessential items. Do you really need window shades? Idle minds are a dangerous thing. Take away peoples ability to distract themselves and it gets even worse. It won't be the virus at that point that kills people.Because it gives a reason for people to go to the store solely to buy unessential items. Do you really need window shades? They're not on the list I copied above, so that's a good sign since most of the big box grocery stores have an ammo section.i heard guns and ammo are back to nonessential as well.
I get the idea that it's supposed to limit people from going to store for no reason, but i'm thinking of, what about all the people that have to take care of that shit now. The essential workers that now, aside from keeping the shelves stocked, counting people coming/going, cleaning everything at all times, questioning and testing other esseintal workers...now have to go around, seperate off 70% of the store, and keep track of people that stack "non-essential" items in their, then have to take those items away, and either throw them in a big ass pile somewhere, or go put them back.Because it gives a reason for people to go to the store solely to buy unessential items. I don't think there's any perfect solution. We all know that, but do you do nothing just because you can't come up with a 100% solution?I get the idea that it's supposed to limit people from going to store for no reason, but i'm thinking of, what about all the people that have to take care of that shit now. That just created so much more work, and to me, for not a lot of gain. The people doing that buying, are the same ones going to the store, for 1 bag of chips and a 2 liter of cola. They're going to continue necessary trips.
Sad, but not unexpected. It makes sense that the deaths would peak later than the new cases peaks.Well the new cases in Michigan are trending down but new deaths skyrocketed today.![]()
Can't say I agree with you there. It's naturally going to take this thing longer to spread up north and in the rural areas. With weather improving and more people off work and/or worried about how bad the SE counties are getting, more and more will be heading to their vacation homes to de-winterize, make improvements, or even just try and avoid the worst of this mess. Not all, but some of them will be out and about in the towns and stores in those areas, spreading the infection, and crippling an already questionable healthcare system. Things don't look bad now but I can absolutely see it getting nasty per capita if people are able to travel unabated. It'll just be several weeks at minimum behind the already populated areas.Even the residence to residence thing, I don't see that additional restriction necessary to have the effect that they were looking for (and by most accounts, have achieved).
I understand your point but I still wouldn't consider any of that essential. Inconvenient sure, but in no way essential to save and protect human life. Really there are already a lot of truly non-essential things on the essential list, not so much the other way around.What bothers me most is the government deciding what is considered "essential". Paint might not be essential to most of us, but what about those who are expecting a baby and are trying to get a nursery ready? A landlord that is getting a place ready for new tenants? Or anyone who has a home improvement project that will now be on hold because they can't get paint.
Take away people's ability to do thing to cope and that terrifies me far more than the virus. Most of my friends are starting drinking at 9am every day, I bet there are a lot of kids in the lower income areas getting beaten to a pulp just because they are home and the parent is home and who's really going to find out?Can't say I agree with you there. Odd that's a direct change from the previous orderAnd then there is this;
Q: Does boating constitute “outdoor activity” under the new executive order?
A: Physical outdoor activity like kayaking, canoeing, and sailing is permitted under the order, but using a motorboat, a jet ski, or other similar watercraft is not.
So much for equal opportunity for the handicapped and elderly to get on the water.
Why can I use my kayak but not my pontoon boat?
Average hospital stay is I believe 7 days. The article I read said that many people that pass fight for 7 more days, so 14 days in the hospital.Well the new cases in Michigan are trending down but new deaths skyrocketed today.![]()
