Right. In reality the number of infected is likely way higher but the percentage of hospitalizations and fatalities is lower(but not the actual quantity of them). But at some point, when the hospitals are already maxed out, that becomes moot too. If they're already treating more than they can handle, then fatality rates will climb because they won't be able to save people who they otherwise could.

It's a shitshow no matter how you look at it and it's only just beginning. I should have taken the blue pill.
To late for that...you're along for the ride with the rest of us now :sonicjay:

My only worry about this 'triage testing" is it skews the statistics, if you're only testing those you're are pretty sure their sick, then it drives that death rate number up when people who show minor symptoms are never tested

Right now we need to concentrate on now is using our resources to stop this thing and save lives. The time to worry about statistics is when it's all over.

With the exception of truly understanding the magnitude of growth. Otherwise you will always be either under or over prepared. Over prepared is good until you start using valuable resources in the wrong place.

Roads were OK today. I'd say busier than they were on Friday.

I plan on staying home except to go to the gas station to buy assloads of cheap gas and diesel to store away. I think I'm at $750 in the last 5 days.

Thankfully it's only a mile between home and the station. If I got pulled over I'd be fined.

Okay quick sidebar, has anyone actually been pulled over and asked where they're going? Because I keep hearing rumors about this but no one first hand, always "a friend" or an "I heard"

Meh, the population could use a good thinning anyway. The earth is telling us something. If the people ignoring the news/science isn't a great sign of that I don't know what is.

You're allowed to buy fuel and things, so I doubt you would get fined.

Contractor I know has been talking with people and was informed that as of next week the police will be enforcing this more. If you are out you could get pulled over. If it is essential like store for food or one of the many essential services you will need a pass from your employer or you could be fined up to $5oo.oo and charged with a misdemeanor.

He has 27 employees waiting at home wanting to get back to work. He was told that michigan and a few other states have stopped construction work as of yesterday. That number of states could go up.

One of his employees did have a friend that got pulled over and ticketed.
Soft run on marshall law? It kinda seems like it.

Maybe next cold and flu season they will do the same thing. Shut the whole country down.

This is exactly what I've been hearing, all second hand info. No one that's actually experienced anything first hand.

Also, what kind of construction does he do? Because there is specific clarification on the FAQ page of executive order 20-21 further describing construction

This is rather offensive. I'm in the risk age range. I really don't want an early exit thank you very much.:finger:

Something nasty came out of China. Please don't wish that on the rest of us.

I have been still having contractors show up at my house. They say since it's new construction and the house isnt occupied it's fine.

Edit:

Even the city of holland inspector showed up yesterday to approve my service electrical, and the inspector for insulation is supposed to come today yet

Not wishing it on anyone, you're isolating and following the rules. But the people that are completely disregarding this are a problem for the rest of us.

My wife is at extremely high risk with this whether she cares to admit it to me.

With the exception of the night of the 11th I've barely left the house since the 6th, and locked up since the 12th with my kids. There's a point when you start hating on the idiots that keep getting this extended :sonicjay:

Unfortunately I am not as isolated as I would like to be. I work for an essential company and although at times I could work at home, everything on my plate requires interaction with both my engineers and people in the shop. So for the time being I am still at work 5 days a week.

I feel for you and your wife. I hope she can avoid this.

RE people completely disregarding this, yes, there are those that are scoffing at it. The numbers are starting to go thru the roof and one of the most impacting things for me is this recent video from a nurse at a hospital 10 mile from where I work.

Predictive analysis is that we'll be where New York is in about ten days. That's based on historical data thus far. If we're not then that means what we're doing is actually working

Q: Do I need to carry credentials or any paperwork that indicates I’ve been designated a critical infrastructure employee or to travel to and from my home or residence?

A: No, there is not a requirement under Executive Order 2020-21 to carry credentials or paperwork with you under any circumstance.
