Today at lunch, I had a friend unstick two shopping carts for a really old lady at aco. When he caught up with me at the car I asked him if he got her number. He has been catching crap all day at work now.

I don't have anything specific. But, I try to live by the golden rule. I make sure to say good morning and thank you to people at work. I don't "tell" my employees what to do, I "ask" them. Sure I'm telling them but I don't need to be a prick about it. After 30 years, I still open the car door for my wife probably 50% of the time. I'm the tool and equipment freak so I help my neighbors with alot of stuff.

It all boils down to the Golden Rule.:thumb:

SORRY SO LONG !!!



The party store down the road had just changed hands. I had met the new owners afew times and even pulled in to get gas one day after a fresh snow and plwed them out since I was there. ( NO Charge). Just showing them that there was some friendly customers and people still out there. A few months passed and I was on my wasy into town to see about refinancing my crap to save on some money. When I passed what I thought was a cash bag laying on the side of the Rd at the end of a driveway. I was puzzled! The wife said it was probly trash or some kids pencil bag they dropped. Well being couriouse I turned around and went back to see. Sure enough if was a cash style bag. When we oppened it, It was full of cash ,checks and deposit slips. This was the weekend money bag from the store just down the Rd. A full busy weekends take with a few dozen payrole checks that they had cashed and many more the took in for goods and gas. Well 90% of the people in the world would have said (MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME) BUT!!! I drove right to the store , Walked in and asked why they would theow perfictly good money away( jokeing with them of course). They had already realized that they had lost it and were planning for the worst. This loss would have bankrupped them and would would have to close down if it was not returned and they figured no way someone would return that much cash in this area. I stayed long enough to give it back and them to say thanks a million time. We have now been great friend and they have been there for my family in many ways.
A week later as I was paying for some gas and stuff Cindy the owner handed me a envolope which I told them I didnt want but she gave it to my little daughter then so I said thanks and left.The envolope had a Gift cerificate for my family to eat at Coyels rest. in Houghton Lake.
Well we went up to the rest. the next week and had a good meal!! Well now is when things turned a bit ugly. The waitress came and asked if we wanted desert and the kid ordered some and she left some crayons for them to color with while waiting. I decided to go pay and spend anything left on the Gift cert. in their gift shop. I had a bit over $7.00 let and didnt see anything and went to ask my wife to go look.
As I left the gift shop area heading back to the table (WHere the wife and kids were still waiting for their ice cream) The Hoastess and waitress walked by . As they did I turned back just as they both wer pointing at me and the hoastess in a very loud voice asked the teller if I payed my bill or was I sneeking out without paying. Now the rest. was full and I instantly had 100 people looking at me like I was a common theif. I just shook my head and said Yes I payed and now instead of spending the rest of my giftcert. in you store (as I added it up ) you can shove it up your asses . I went to the table and told the family we were leaving. They still had not even received their desert yet so I told them I would take them to DQ instead9 EVEN THOUGH WE PAYED FOR THE DAMB ICECREAM ALREADY THERE. A we started to leave the waitress came over and in a nice voice reminded me that I was suppose to leave a TIP. I just looked away and left. Well after a nice call to the place the next day after I calmed down the owner was seamingly concrerned on the way we were treated and did fire the waitress and repremanded the hoastest. Then a few days later in the mail came a envolope from the resturaunt. In it was a not sayint that the were sorry we didnt finish our meal and that I didnt get to spend the rest of my Cert. so here was a cuppon for a free loaf of home made bread from their gift shop. SO NICE OF THEM!!! I have never been back to their Rest. and most likly never will.

Wait Wait Wait.....I've got it!!!

Came back from a trail ride last night with the kids, three guys in a kayak pull up at my cabin.
All three are on the verge of hyperthermia. Kayak is taking on water and they have been walking it down the river for two hours. They ask how far to their destination and I told them about an hour. They ask to use the phone and realize none of them can remember the phone number they need.
I tell them I will take them by road to the cabin they are looking for and gave them towels to wrap around themselves.
We strap the kayak to the top of my jeep and hit the road. No top or doors on the jeep and they are turning blue.:sonicjay:
I even had to put the seatbelt on the front passenger because he was shaking so bad he couldn't work the belt clip.
Got them back to there campsite, they offered to pay me, I said no and have a nice weekend.:thumb:

I'm pretty sure I should be sainted or atleast a statue be built in my honor.:rock::sonicjay:
