This is a "regular" in the butterfly bush that we have in the side garden. And it is definitely not a Monarch. It is huge! and just plain beautiful. Check the stripes on the body..









Any clue about what kind of butterfly is this?

ha I kind of feel gay posting that I took this pic, but i saw the same type of butterfly a couple weeks ago. This one was damaged though.

looks like an
Anise Swallowtail or Eastern Tiger Swallowtail......not that I know anything about butterflies. Anyway find pics of their caterpillars...pretty cool.

I have pics that I took of a tiger swallowtail caterpillar in my front yard. I will post them up when I get home.
