Is it real or just another money grab for researchers to get paid by the taxpayers to create fear in people to throw more money into a problem that we cant control?

There have been failed predictions one after another and yet we still have people all over the world agreeing that these failed predictions will eventually come true if we throw enough money at it.

Ill leave this here for future reference to see if it comes true.

Well first let's look at the facts;

For the past century humans have at an increasing rate extracting hydrocarbons out the ground and burning them and releasing the resultant CO2 into the atmosphere.

We can measure the about of CO2 in the atmosphere, and it is increasing.

Scientist have a theory that explains how increases in atmospheric CO2 can cause increases in atmospheric temperatures.

Atmospheric temperatures are increasing.

I don't see the harm in working to develop and switch to renewable resources.

This thread should be a time capsule to post predictions and come back in 5 years and see if any of them have happened.
Like the Al Gore biggie that by 2014 coastal lands would be under water. Never happened.

OK. My 10 year prediction is that we will still be getting a majority of our energy from fossil fuels, cars, trucks, trains, planes will still run mostly on petroleum. We will see increases in renewable energy, but it will still be minor compared to others.

Global temperatures will still be at or near record highs and still be a concern, but will not have yet caused any catastrophe. Likewise, sea levels will have continued to raise, by a few mm's per year, and have not yet caused any major problems.

The left will still be predicting calamity soon, the right will still be denying it.

Aber and I will still be here debating it.

I thought we were talking about climate change, not Christianity.

Everybody knows that climate change and ice age are two completely different weather phenomenon that occur when the ice melts during the climatic change know as global warming:thumb:

But if you have a weather prediction free to leave it hear and see if it comes to pass.

I can wait and see. We may need to grab a cold one and sit on the front porch and watch things happen in real time.

You talking about the flood?
So, this flood you're talking about...

Wouldn't that be analogous to global climate change causing the ice caps to melt and flooding most of the habitable world? Or is that too much symbolism?

Genisis 7:11,12

1 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month—on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. 12 And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.

The springs of the deep would be ground water coming up and the floodgates of heaven would be rain.

and what do you think causes mass flooding of that scale? some rain or rain causing ocean levels to rise thus raising the ground water table.

Analogies only work if they prove your point?
