OK so i was coming home last night on 131 came up behind a semi that was going way slow so i pushed clutch in and hit the breaks because there were cars on the left and i couldn't go around. so after i equaled to his speed put it in 4th and when he got up to speed I tried to put it in 5th but no go... so i pulled off on M-37 to get some gas and turned off the engine but after restart still no go into 5th...

it was like i was locked out of it... 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and reverse all work just fine. and i can even put it in 5th when the engine is off but not while running.

Any ideas?

well I will check that out
I actually had that happen once when trail riding lost all them screws but there is no noticeable associated slop

it really feels like there's something blocking 5th specifically

so just an update to any that care

i did fluid a change in the tranny and that put it back to normal i could shift easily again in and out of all gears

so of course yesterday i went to go to the store got out my drive way went to shift into third lost all clutch pressure and can only depress clutch 50%

Throw out bearing took a shit...

i dont know if these two problems are related but is about usual one thing fixed another breaks....

anyone in the Evart area (which is where im taking it to work on at my folks) wanna offer a hand and knowledge maybe even a tranny jack can be reimbersed with BEER :beerbang:

Yeah fluid was the first thing I checked

the master and slave just got replaced last month

Between my father my master mech friend and a random tran dude is how I came to the throw out bearing conclusion so I'm just gonna replace the clutch as well

Unfortunrtly none of them are availible for help at the moment lol convient?

OK,
so that sucked... but i got it done.

what had happened is the throw out bearing clips broke, than with out the retaining clips the throw out bearing jammed on the shaft. and there fore i lost all clutch pressure and could not engage clutch or gears.

as far as the original problem i'm fairly sure they are somewhat related as the gear oil that was in it was not up to par, and the trans was Cooking, heated up them clips and weakened them. eventually they broke, throw out bearing jammed...

as far as the clutch and pressure plate they were fine and looked in great shape, i actually kept them for another day when I'm poor and this new clutch goes out. or who knows i fucked up and shit hits the fan in two weeks lol

lesson learned? AX-15 when equipt with 33's or greater and driving on highway go with Lucus 85-140 gear lube!
the trans runs cooler and smoother
