I just got an 92 yj with a spring over on 6" lift springs and a 3" body lift it was up there. I dont like body lifts so I am removing it in the process I found 4 broken bolts and 3 mounts torn from the body. Out of 11 body mounts only 4 where holding, body lifts should be outlawed.

my body lift is awesome, its a 2" or 3" on a GMC sonoma, it gives me a flat belly and room to remove the transmission and t case when I need to without a ton of hassle! all the bolts are holding except the one I tried to remove.

do it right the first time or dont lift at all....i hate how most people do body lifts and the bumpers dont match up with body lines....:finger:

x2 i have a 94 sonoma sls highrider. gotta love the 3" stock body lift
:sonicjay: yes, but I am sure mine wasn't one of those, the bumpers, if I had any, would not match up. working on getting custom bumpers built, but shit keeps breaking.

i believe 1 inch should be the body lift max because daystar makes the 1 inch poly lift and that's awesome. my buddy did one on a 98 tj and dampened the ride a little while giving him enough room to spray mud off his frame completely.

i think the pucks that stack on the body mounts should not be allowed, but the one piece taller mounts should be acceptable.

I wouldn't say that body lifts are bad. I used to have a dodge ram with a 5" suspension and 3" body lift. Ended up taking a telephone pole head on at 45mph. Needless to say the telephone pole lost. None of the body bolts or pucks ever broke or came out.

body lifts can have some very useful applications. but doing it as a sole means of a lift is just being a cheap ass. body lifts don't make the suspension work better for bigger tires which is what you need to begin with.

Even when your truck was just on a 3" body lift it looked right. Nate did good with that little s10 of yours, even when it still had bumpers :thumb:.

yes, I like it, just needs some beefing up, the chromolie axles helped, now I blew up the tcase, so I am working on getting a 231/300 doubler put togather, then linking the suspension and putting tons on it.
