Summary:

Black kids go and meet a rocket scientist, whites, chinese, muslim, etc aren't allowed to attend. Principal says it wasn't meant to segregate or leave anyone out, but to educate and let the black kids know that there are opportunities out there for them, regardless of what society says. Muslim girl brings up the point that they're also discriminated against, and then is "belittled" by principal. Parents, obviously, are outraged.

This crap wouldn't have happened if the general message was changed to say that every kid has a chance to be whatever they want, and then take every kid with them. Margolis said Madison, who is black, heard the boos, and went to talk to the class. She said he and the class had a “discussion” about race issues.

I work with a white guy whose brother (also white) got a grant from them. They eventully found out he was white but couldn't really do anything. They called him in for a meeting so he took his lawyer with him.

I will have to ask Matt about it again. It was a while ago he told me about it. They should have known being he was from Midland. It gets called "Whitesville" around here sometimes.

as for the AA field trip, I agree with what many of you posted, when are people going to realize as long as people keep seperating races and treating them different, there will be problems.
