Hi

I am barely getting 12 volts out of my jeep. Any suggestions (other than new alternator) as to the problem??

The Alternator should be a Delco with an internal regulator, make sure the belt is tight and in good shape. Sounds stupid but I have seen it fool people. Check the volts coming out of the Alternator and compare them with the Battery voltage should be close. If all this checks out you probably need a new Alternator.

What dunedog said. Check alternator output to ground, then positive to negative on battery.

Are you seeing the 12 volts on a DVOM or on the I/P gauge?
