I can probably arrange for a pocket picture later, though. Looks like it will be leaving my possession tonight and going into the hands of a GL member that has handled squirrels before.

It ate really well last night. Finally figured out how to get it to drink the puppy milk from the plastic syringe and it took down like 5-6cc's like it was nothing. Woke up this morning to find just about all of the monkey biscuit gone, too. Pretty good appetite so far.

Its a specific brand of substitute puppy milk that was recommended on all the squirrel rescue/rehab sites I referenced. Comes in liquid or powder and commonly available at per stores. Not cheap if you actually have to use it for puppies, which will drink a lot more of it than this little guy. A can of the powdered mix (which was recommended over the liquid) was $20 at Pet Supplies Plus. The milk mix was probably a waste of money, as the squirrel appears ready for solid food. Just didn't want to take a chance that it wouldn't eat the biscuits.

I had never heard of primate (monkey) biscuits before reading those sites. It looks like large nuggets of dog food. Apparently, it is sold in bulk, but Highland Tropical in White Lake sells it in Ziplock bag-sized amounts for $1.50. The squirrel is about the size of 2 of the biscuits and managed to eat about 1 biscuit in 2 days.
