I bought some of these from General Jims a couple years ago. I have not come across a need for them yet, but I have not done any trail riding either. I was going to cut one in half. I have always been at my place with good recovery equipment.

I've thought about getting one of those sand anchors for winches...Pull-Pal. The one time I had to use my winch I used 4 different trees but a Pull-Pal would have allowed me to make it in one pull. Almost got stuck in another spot it would have been useful. More useful in the desert.

yeah, i figured as much.:sonicjay: Matting was used extensively in the pacific during ww2 for landing strips.
