I only practice safe butt play, no metal.

I carry a USMC KABAR.

In my truck.

Legality's of a knife very from place to place in MI. They are not preempted (sp?) likes firearms are. I think a lot of it comes down to intent with a fixed blade knife. Michigan Gun Owners forum had information pertaining to this.

Even if everything in that link is true there is still no preemption for knives. Just because a knife is legal at the state level does not mean that a township or municipality hasn't made a more restrictive ordnance. ie: I don't believe it is against state law to watch porn in your vehicle but it is illegal in Flint. Another one would be fireworks. They are no longer illegal at the state level but many community's are limiting their use.

I have one every day. There is no law against it in Michigan, unless you have "unlawful intent" As the law reads you could carry a damn sword everywhere, as long as there's no intent, and it isn't double edged.

wouldnt it just fall under the same rules as blade length on a folding knife? I used to carry one because I got sick of cheap folders folding.
There is no length law for knives, folding or fixed, in MI. All it is basically, is you have to prove to have a reason to be carrying a knife of any type without intent to harm. So carrying a. Large fixed blade for "self defence" may not fly with everyone. If you were just out hunting is a different thing.

Wrong. I'd argue that intent to harm must be proved before my legal right:thumb:
