I buy the cheap Black and Decker 4.5" grinders. When the cutting one starts getting noisy/sloppy/out of balance then it becomes the grinding one. When the grinding one starts getting noisier/sloppier/more out of balance then it becomes the concrete cutting one. Once I'm done with that, if I'm unhappy with it then I take it back to Walmart for exchange. If it served me well, I just buy a new one.

I have a couple Bosch ones that are really nice. Much smaller body and quieter. Sometimes you can find a 2-pack of them at Lowes for about $100.

Milwaukee stuff is chinese junk.

Metabo 4-1/2" ftw. Thrown in the dirt, sand mud snow, cold as fawk hot as fawk, I have cut thousands of pieces of bar with it and done more rubbing and patching walls than I care to recall. I bought mine at ace cutting in novi about 5 years ago. Expensive at first but a worthwhile investment considering I probably would have burnt up 5 or 6 dewalts by now.(I smoked two in one season prior to the metabo):thumb:

Yup still stand by this

I'm not sure about fab work, but some work places don't allow repaired cords to be used on electric tools, mine sites are one of them. If you fuk up the cord, you have to replace the grinder :( I have a few grinders with repaired cords I inherited from a buddy because of this.

If I fukc up a cord I take it apart and put a new cord on it .............or just don't fukc it up haha
