Just a reminder for you to call your parents if you still have them, and just say hello... just because.

Terrible thing happened to a buddy of mine yesterday/today. He called me last night and informed me that his father had suffered a pretty massive stroke and isn't expected to make it through the night.

So naturally, he and his sisters and mother spent a majority of the day yesterday and last night up at the hospital at his fathers bedside. On the way home, they were driving three seperate cars on their way back to his moms house to have dinner and get a little bit of rest, since they had been up there for so long. His mom was in the first car, then his sisters behind her, and he was the last of the 3 cars... all following in a line down the highway. The rain was very bad, and they had heard there were tornado warnings.. They were about 10 minutes from home when suddenly his moms car somehow got "picked up" by the tornado, spun around, and somehow eventually ended upside down, and killed his mother instantly.

All of this played out basically right in front of them, since she was in the vehicle ahead of them. I'm not 100% sure on the details of exactly HOW the tornado flipped the car because he is obviously very distraught and upset.. so I didn't really get a chance to ask him any further. (BTW, this happend just outside of Toledo Ohio.)

So needless to say, he is probably having the worst day of his life today. (By the way... dad is still alive and they just broke the news to him.. not going well) I suggested that they waited to tell him, and my buddy didn't want to tell him either.. but the doctors insisted that he should know. I'm not sure how I feel about that. So now, he and his sisters are unexpectedly planning a funeral for his 50 something year old mother, and will probably have to do another for his father in the next day or two.

Anyhow, tell your mom and dad you love them, if they're still with you. Things can happen anytime when you least expect it. :thumb:

Wow that's just horrible. I can't even imagine what it must be like to have to go though something like that. I really hope his father makes it. No one should have to go trough losing both of their parents like that at the same time. I lost my mother when I was 12 and I live with my father now. He has helped me out a lot and I can't imagine what I would do without him.
