Any updates?
Nothing real picture worthy yet. With the warm weather the wife has been pushing me to get our boat fixed and I have been spending a lot of time getting the transmission rebuilt for my willys pickup.

I did just get confirmation that my daytona pinion support got delivered today which is the last piece of the puzzle to get the axle geared and assembled. I have a pretty open weekend so I hope to have the axle geared and maybe even the inner C's pressed on.

On a side note me and my brother just got hp tuners. Hoping to have a lot of fun with that this summer

I got the center section re geared this weekend but ran out of time trying to get the inner C's on. I put them in the oven for about an hour and a half but they still required a sledge to even slightly start on the tube. I'm going to give it another go this week with either my woodstove or grill and maybe even some dry ice or liquid nitrogen.

I placed the axle under the jeep and centered it though to start getting an idea for link placement. The only concern I have is how far apart the upper frame side link mounts are in relation to the rear 4 link. Can anybody lend some insight on this? The width between the upper frame mounts would be almost 20" wider than the rear.

Looks like I'm going to have to ditch the dual exhaust for a y pipe over to the passenger side too, the diff is to far offset to the driver side

Generally speaking the tires hit the links while steering before you can get them that wide at the chassis anyway. Is that picture at full bump? It looks like when you go full bump the upper's going to want to be through the frame. I would want my IC x axis behind the rear bumper but everything's a compromise.

The axle is at ride height. And where the link is now it would tuck perfectly under the frame for at least 8" of up travel. My limit looks like it's going to be the upper link mount on the power steering pump. The tire will be extremely close to the link when turned all the way but I have no way of knowing for sure until I get the outers on

One inner C is pressed on, it was still a pretty tight fit so I'm going to get dry ice or liquid nitrogen for the tube putting the second inner C on. Hopefully that makes it easier for me to match the angle. The first one isn't welded in place yet but it's set at 8 degrees of caster

The new front axle is put together, I hope all the extra time and money was worth it to build this vs. using the stock super duty 60. I need to lengthen my front driveshaft to know for sure but caster looks like it will be about 10 degrees. I think this will help it track straight much better and any extra steering force required will not be noticeable with a full hydro set up.

I compared this to my brothers super duty 60 in my barn and it ended up about an inch shorter, I measured right around a 67" wms to wms. I'm hoping to have the overall width smaller than 82" so it can fit in our big enclosed trailer without having to use rollers.

Nice. My 05 SuperDuty is narrowed 4 3/8" and has a WMS around 67.5". I think it will be a good width. You should be able to get < 82" depending on backspacing and tire width.

One thing I learned was make sure you don't get any burrs while pressing on the knuckle. I had one and it prevented me from rotating the knuckles once pressed on. I ended up pulling off the knuckle, cleaning it up a bit more, and the pressing it back on. I'm not sure what I did that caused the burr, as I thought I had smoothed it all out, but it was obvious when I pulled the knuckle off again.

I'm pretty happy with where the width ended up. My rear axle is 65" wide so it should work out really well.

I went through quite a bit to make it as easy as possible getting the C pressed on but both sides still fought me pretty good. I took my engine hone to the inner C bore, flap wheeled the tube up real good and put a slight bevel at both ends. I then put the C in my grill at 550 degrees for like 4 hours and then stuffed the tube with ice for the last hour. I was able to push the C on the first half inch or so and was able to set my angle, then I beat the heck out of it with a bfh til it was all the way on. I went a little far on the first side but I was able to still hit it back out the 1/8" or whatever distance I needed. The second side I used a hose clamp around the tube as a stop so I didn't go to far

It is 79" wide with the tires on, so I shouldn't have a problem fitting in our enclosed trailer. My brother got a set of 37s so I couldn't help but see what they looked like on my jeep, I dig it. But I like my treps to much to switch anytime soon.

Thanks to ebay having a 20% off sale I ordered a doubled ended trail gear 8" ram with clamps and a clevis kit last night for a smoking deal.

I went with the trail gear ram for one because I bought a trail gear orbital a couple weeks back and the second reason was price. For the 8" ram, mounting clamps, and clevis kit I paid $285 shipped to my door.

I'm happy with how the 4 link numbers turned out so I can now duplicate the other 2 links to the other side.

My ram finally showed up last night so I got that mocked up and bent up a tube to mount/guard the ram. Saw on Facebook that @Offroadanonymous is coming out with a weld on high steer kit for the super duty axles so as soon as that's available I think i will order a set. Then I can actually mount the ram.

More progress on steering this weekend. Shout out to @Offroadanonymous for the high steer kit, it is going to work out great and it is super beefy. All that's left now is hoses and a 3/4 heim set for the ram since my 7/8 heims wont fit.
