look at the ignition coil behind the air cleaner. you will see 2 plugs on top of it aside from the actual coil wire. one plug is black and connects to the distributor with a red and white wire. the other plug is gray and has a white and a red wire. hook your tach signal to the white wire on the gray plug.

+1 There might also be a single wire pigtail on the firewall by the dist that you can hook the tach too. Would be a male spade connector.
