I drove by yesterday and didn't see the trailer was outside so I knew you were up to something. Lookin good. I got a 44/60 combo myself I'm hoping to put in my xj. But with requiring all new steering and another $500 in brackets/trusses I don't see it happening anytime soon. How much for that front end?
I can get you all the brackets you need laser cut out of 1/4" steel in the $150-$200 range if that interests you

Most people interchange the names "air" and "hydro" for the same thing. There's hydraulic oil and air(nitrogen) in there, so call em what you want. Straight up air bumps wouldn't work nearly as well since it wouldn't use the hydraulic oil and valving to dampen and control compression and rebound. You would just be using air like a spring, you wouldn't have any kind of controlled damping. Might as well just buy Timbrens at that point.
This is why when I build mine I'm making them easy to disassemble so I can start with a .050" hole in the piston and drill more as needed

Maybe I misunderstood him, but I was under the impression that he was using the bump stops as his actual bumps and not getting full bump stroke out of these diy air bumps...

A limit strap limits drop, the way he described his bumps, they do not seem like they are going to limit uptravel...

Maybe I'm just a big incompetent retard that would rather spend my money than waste my time. You only have so much time on this earth, but you can always make more money.
Our current bumps are inside the coils and the air bumps will not be mounted there. There is absolutely no reason to get rid of them.
The limit strap was just an anology. The limit strap prevents the shock from over extending just like a hard bump can help prevent an air bump from blowing up
You can always make more money but guess what, that takes time

Is it really that bad that you can't run with what you got for the time being? Your idea will work but you creating more work for yourself to build a weaker control arm in the end..

Yea I bet your right haha, I thought it was 220 for some reason. If it's not definitely don't get it haha. I have needed to keep my 180 lincoln maxed out for most of the stuff I'm doing

Maybe its just the picture but that truss wont do much for you if its only that high off the pig. I would shoot for at least an inch

Edit: looks like you will have it fully welded to the pig so you might not need an inch
