This is me, too. Take the fishing boat out any chance I can get. I figure Silver is open until November and it's a lot easier to wheel in a Carhartt than it is to launch a boat in one. Plus every park/area is usually less busy once Summer is out

 

I don't think I've gone a weekend without one or the other, it's been a decent summer. I need to get my 60 built quick so I can still make it to rausch creek and drummond. Those are the only major trips I'm planning on

Anyone going to the timber crawl this Saturday? I'm planning on going, might be my last wheeling trip until after my 60 but who knows.

On a side note, I'm going to be making some reverse progress on my cage. I'll be welding it back in for now and hopefully buying myself a hydraulic tube bender this winter to make some progress on it instead of borrowing one.

Well I should have my roll cage full welded back in tonight...Last night I sleeved it and tacked it back in place. Just need to fill up my axles and I should be good to go for this weekend.

 

Bought some new PRP harnesses yesterday that should be in tomorrow. Didn't go to the crawl last weekend because it was a mud fest but did manage to put quite a few miles on the jeep which felt good. Not going to the race this weekend, I'm heading to the dunes instead with a group of guys. Welded up a few quick release fire extinguisher mounts tonight to ship out as well.

Another plus, my buddy's dad is going to water jet out a set of 3/4" d ring tabs for me for free that'll fit right in my bumper. Only down side is I won't have them till next week but I can't complain with the price

Good welder choice. My brother has the same one and put a lot of wire through it. Only negative I have is the non infinity heat adjustment.

Tore my front axle apart tonight to fix the leaking passenger side seal. Apparently I some how lost the spring on the spring seal...hopefully a new seal will fix all issues. Also putting new knuckles on and properly torque my ball joints should help my front end

Amazing how many people don't torque ball joints correctly or even at all. I've seen a ton of issues this year from it at work. Especially on super duty axles.

 

Any one going to the dunes this weekend? I'll be up there with a group of probably 10 for a guys weekend

Had a great weekend at the dunes. Ran around all weekend without breaking anything and even used 4wd this trip. I forgot how helpful it is for climbing shit.

Set up some gears in @DozerJK front 60 for him. 27inlb preload, .006" backlash, and a great pattern.

Haven't made much progress on my own jeep, I've gone to the dunes 3 of the last 4 weekends though with no major issues. Heading up north next weekend to hit some trails then Drummond the weekend after.

It's been nice taking on side fab jobs and stuff to make a little extra money. My gfs dealership just gave me an older snow plow for my truck so I've gotta make a mount for that hopefully before it gets too cold out and make some more cash once it snows. I started collecting parts for my V8 swap but I've been busy with work and I'm going to start traveling for work soon so that project is put on hold. Most likely won't happen until sheet I buy a house next spring/summer.

For now I just need to build up money to dump into my front 60.
