Some of you might know me, Collin, I've been to a handful of events in the last year or so riding along with @Ryanw10 or @BLZR. Well I decided to finally bring a build thread over here...I don't feel like posting all of my rebuild progress from when I totaled it until now but if you have any questions just ask...

It was stock when I totaled it and this is what it looks like now

I'm currently 8 lug rear 5 lug front. I should be 8 lug front and rear by the time I head up to Drummond on Oct 22nd. Last night I just picked up some Corbeau Baja JP Wide seats and threw them in, just gotta make a harness bar and get the 4pt's installed.

I've done all the work myself or with the help of friends so I can answer any questions you might have...for some reason there aren't a lot of JK build threads on GL4x4 :sonicjay:

Good news and bad news.

The good news is that the shock had no damage, just had a weird issue with the ifp sitting on the nitro cap. Phil isn’t sure if it was something I did or if radflo made a mistake on assembly, but everything was fixed for free other than me having to pay shipping so it’s whatever. Should be good to go for rejects.

The bad news is that I need to fix my rear suspension mounts. I absolutely smoked a tree with my rear axle while taking the family for hot rod rides through the woods last weekend...bent multiple mounts and axle is a few inches off center.

More good news is that I finally ran a natural gas line to my garage so I can hook the furnace up, I did all the math on heating with my kerosene heater vs natural gas and it almost made me sick how much money I’m wasting on BTU/$ by using kerosene. Lol.

More bad news is the fawking line is 5’ short of what I need, so I’ll have to go to the store and get some black pipe to finish plumbing it.

Hows everyone else’s Saturday night going?

Who all is going to reject run this weekend? Who’s staying the night?

I’ve had a shit show at work this week, but luckily I’ve had my wife and one of my buddies helping me get everything welded out and half assed prepped. I wasn’t able to do near the work I wanted to because of my work schedule, but I should be able to at least wheel the weekend. Wiring and painting hopefully in the next month or so before before the hill climb.

Unfortunately basically the only pics from this weekend are when I found the single mud hole and got stuck. But this weekend was a blast like always. My best friend from college, Adam, got to put some seat time in as well behind the wheel of the Jeep which was neat. The last few years I’ve been taking his X3 to reject run but finally I was able to get my Jeep there, unfortunately his X3 broke when he was pulling it off the trailer. The Jeep performed great, only “break” was losing an exhaust clamp and exhaust pipes coming disconnected.

First off mtnbiker - thank you for keep posting on this thread! Been great to follow the break - fix -wheel it progress.

Second - for those of us NOT in the "know" of things: could someone that is active on here start updating when some of the "annual" events are happening? I mean, I know of Snofari because of this site (never been, but would like to someday) but never heard of Reject Run until I started reading this thread. Maybe just a "covers all" thread that dates can just be posted to it?

Like Jonny J - I too detest FB. I have a page on there because the guys I have been riding quads with for 23 years have spread out all over the country as well as we established a page to up-load all the ride pictures and videos. Otherwise, I only have a few "friends" on there that even then I do not want anything to do with all the stupid crap that gets re-posted. I looked at one "group's" page and logged out of FB after reading 10 posts! All crappy stuff and crappy attitudes.

Lastly- sorry for hijacking the thread😕

OH don't apologize for hijacking a thread. It's the best thing we have going.

Thanks for not having an issue with post hi-jacking, and yes I know about the section for the events- but I know that people use to have a thread for each event, including the details for the event. I was thinking since traffic is down so much on here that maybe do just one thread and just post the even name, date, location and possibly contact? Not all the details, just a spot we could check on to see when stuff is happening. You know, not make one person responsible to maintain all the details of an event.

OK, so next thought- why doesn't this guys with the ideas take this on? Well, I would, IF I knew where I could find the info. This site was always my go-to for that.

Hell yea, I did all the math with what I was paying for kerosene in my heater, and what my natural gas cost was. It’s 5.9 time cheaper per BTU to run natural gas, even better off because the high efficiency furnace I was given is way more efficient than my turbo heater

Not Jeep related but last weekend I helped a buddy get his truck back on its own weight. He started a SAS project 4 years ago and it sat for 3 years 51 weeks after he cut the IFS off, lol. He designed the SAS kit himself using a 79 f250 hp d44. I gave him a set of old 35s a few years ago that I honestly didn’t even know he still had. Didn’t turn out too bad, gotta move the spring perches slightly apart or mounts slightly closer together though so everything is more relaxed when sitting level.

Well I sold the trans and t case for $600, so I netted a free 6.0 out of the deal. Started tearing into it last night, this thing looks mint. Just need to go grab a harmonic balancer puller so I can get the crank pulley off and get it completely gutted. Then I’ll gut my blown up 6.0 and see what is salvageable out of it.

Another non Jeep related post...I ran up to west olive yesterday. Found a running 6.0 on marketplace for $300 so I went to pick it up, while I was talking to the guy he mentioned he had a set of 799 heads he’d throw in for another $100. So I threw him $400 for everything and dropped it off at my buddy Adam’s (with the 94 SAS Chevy) on the way home. He was pleasantly surprised, lol

Well we got our passes for the U4 race in Rush, KY in the middle of April. As of now, I think that's the next wheeling event I'm headed to since Rocks n Valleys / Snow Snake cancelled their hill climb in March. Now I have to decide if I'm going to get my new 6.0 slapped together for Rush or run the 5.3 for one more trip. A lot of other side projects around the house and in the garage have me leaning towards just running the 5.3, but you never know...
