Some of you might know me, Collin, I've been to a handful of events in the last year or so riding along with @Ryanw10 or @BLZR. Well I decided to finally bring a build thread over here...I don't feel like posting all of my rebuild progress from when I totaled it until now but if you have any questions just ask...

It was stock when I totaled it and this is what it looks like now

I'm currently 8 lug rear 5 lug front. I should be 8 lug front and rear by the time I head up to Drummond on Oct 22nd. Last night I just picked up some Corbeau Baja JP Wide seats and threw them in, just gotta make a harness bar and get the 4pt's installed.

I've done all the work myself or with the help of friends so I can answer any questions you might have...for some reason there aren't a lot of JK build threads on GL4x4 :sonicjay:

Anyone have any 05+ super duty parts? Buying brakes, gears, traction device, etc tomorrow.

I'm also looking for a 8" x 2.5" double ended PSC ram and/or weld on high steer before I likely buy tomorrow.

Related, does anyone know if a Trail Gear DE ram will fit within the PSC mounts that are already welded on to my axle?

Started test fitting exhaust tonight. Chris will be here Thursday to weld up the exhaust for me.

I’m hoping tomorrow to have the front axle built minus gears as long as my steering arms show up on time, they’re already a day late.

If I run out of stuff I can work on I’ll probably put the rear axle brakes back together and get it on it’s own weight again.

Hydro components should be here by the end of the week.

Long time without an update, but I got everything finished up last week. Rode amazing, handled amazing, and ran amazing. Unfortunately, I must have had an injector issue because my oil pan ended up with a quart or two of gas in it and my engine locked up right before loading the trailer to go up north. But it was a great feeling to be able to go down the road at 80mph and it tracked dead straight without a hand on the wheel.

It’s all good. I have a pretty good lead on a temporary replacement engine, just need to go pick it up this week. Thanks!!

I’m running 2.0x16” radflo rear and 2.5x14” radflo front. The rear I have limit strapped to 14” because when I first designed the tube chassis, I didn’t take into account the path the axle takes when flexing and the coilovers hit the chassis the last inch of droop when flexing. So I took 2” out to be safe. I still have 26” of wheel travel rear and 25.5” of wheel travel front. Now that I have a better understanding of how suspension moves and everything, I would have done a lot of stuff different with the rear chassis, I got lucky on quite a few spots. But unfortunately, that’s all part of learning. I’ve never done an LS swap or full 4 link suspension builds like this before so it was all a huge learning curve.

How did it run amazing with an injector that bad???

In order for that much gas to get into the oil pan your rings must have been completely shot leaving less than desirable compression. Plus an injector pouring that much fuel in should not make for a happy running motor.

Got engine out of Jeep and engine out of truck. Part way through swapping a few parts around. Losing motivation quickly, but trying to get this finished up for my trip to the badlands next weekend. Also need to build a skid plate this week and button up some other odds and ends.

Jeep performed flawlessly this weekend. I had a slight mishap after my roll over, but aside from some dented body panels it has no issues. Everything still works fine. I also linked up with my tuner remotely last night and got a real tune on this thing, holy shit it’s a night and day difference in throttle response and performance.

I also managed to bend my radiator this weekend. If anyone has a stock JK radiator laying around that they don’t need anymore, let me know. I’m also looking for a set of 37-40” tires for a 17” wheel. I want a winter set of tires as well as needing a new wheeling set, I destroyed one of my 5 this weekend.

Wife and I left work early yesterday to go trail riding in Newaygo, put quite a few miles on with no major issues other than losing a fuel pump relay ground at one point. Gotta do a bolt check and I’ll be good to go wheeling this weekend. Unfortunately rocks and valleys is closed for November, so we’ve got a small group headed to Rouch world for a few hours.

Thanks! I finished it about 3am the night before/morning I left for badlands, and I’ve gone wheeling/trail riding about every 3-4 days since then. It’s a great feeling to get out again. I’m going to bundy hill 11/14 weather permitting...I don’t have a top or anything so 44° and rain isn’t appealing. Lol
